    Happy with my 7/2
    Ylang Ylang.
Expecting a big run from her.

However, everyone seems to be ruling out ..

Dance Sequence – 20/1 EW (4 places) running a big race. :rose:

She was totally out of her comfort zone in the 1000 Guineas on ground that was to quick for her and yet she still finished a length and a bit ahead of Pretty Crystal who beat her in the Nell Gwyn. Also Fallen Angel and Darnation both beaten in the 1000 Guineas have since won Group races.

Having had time to recuperate in prep for this race and providing she gets the extra distance she must be in with a chance to win or gain a place at a good price :good: Jac

Appleby isn’t sure Dance Sequence will stay but they are giving it a go.

A recent post on social media suggests there has been no more rain thus far at Epsom, but the threat of it is still forecast.

    Any updates, guys?

This guy is a machine. All he does is work out and pick winners. Talk about fit. You should see him without his shirt off, serious side of beef.

Good to soft john, missed the worst of the rain, chance of some light showers now, but unlikely its going to be worse than good to soft

I’ve not had any rain so far today, but it is clouding over now.

Always a risk Mike and the Dubawi factor to consider but she has a decent draw and they won’t know unless they try.
Just think she’s better than what she’s shown thus far. :good: Jac

We’ve had a few very heavy showers but they didn’t last long. I am south of Epsom but it’s the same weather system. I think there is more forecast for tonight but it’s sunny at the moment. Epsom dries out quickly so (for what it’s worth) I reckon I’m sticking my neck out and predicting it’ll be perfect ground for the Derby. Oaks likely to stay on the soft side.

Thanks for posting Glad and Tonge.
When you say “south of Epsom”, Tonge. How far south?
Do we know for definite Epsom got this “monsoon”?

On the coast GT but even if it was 2 miles away, still no guarantee that it would have hit Epsom. It’s very localised, as Botchy’s post shows. Even if it had hit, it was torrential but only lasted for about 15 minutes. Steady rainfall is more likely to impact going on the “Downs” as initially it runs off. Could be a few soggy patches at the bottom of Tattenham hill but doubt it will bad enough for any excuses (which isn’t to say that connections of beaten horses won’t be citing “the ground” as the reason their champion didn’t win!)

Can’t choose between Secret Satire and Treasure. Treasure looks like she’ll stay, James Doyle is experienced enough to guarantee her a good ride. Secret Satire, will she stay?

Secret Satire 12s WIN and War Chimes 80s EW are my bets on the day of the race. I also have Forest Fairy at 11s WIN as my only ante-post bet standing.

Would have been tempted to back Dance Sequence (still at 16s available), but the Dubawi factor and the softer ground tell me not to bet her.

Changed my mind, only one of these I backed last run was FOREST FAIRY. Ralph says she wants a bit of juice, extra furlong the key here and Rossa fast becoming top top top level jock.

No rain overnight here, six miles east of Epsom. Light rain is predicted to start in an hour or so and to last most of the day.
