I actually really like Arcano. It takes a very good horse to be placed in the July Stakes after 1 start, let alone win it.
August 22, 2009 at 16:56 #245283While the Nunthorpe is one of the weakest Flat Group 1s in Europe it is still great to see a guy like BASTIMAN win back to back win in this race.
Great for Neil Callan too he is really coming into his own.

heres a question y is canford cliffs messing about running in france when it would of made mince meat of this lot. canford is not one for next year its this years horse wont be a 3 yr old would of walked the nunthorpe
why on earth would you run canford cliffs in a cavalry charge and risk a rough race when she can just cruise thru a field of 5/6 and take it in her own time.
she is one the best 2yo fillys i have ever seen and is a huge prospect for next year.Think you might be confusing Canford Cliffs (a he) with The Machine Jealous Again (who won the Queen Mary at Ascot).
Will be no cake walk for CC tommorow – expect Zanzibari and Special Duty to give him a run for his money
Did mean CC, forgive the sex change, just another senile, menopausal moment.
August 29, 2009 at 12:41 #246326KINGSGATE NATIVE is unlikely to race again this season after the star sprinter suffered the recurrence of an old injury.
The Sir Michael Stoute-trained dual Group 1 winner returned from an unsuccessful spell at stud to land Goodwood’s Audi Stakes, but he returned from that race with a problem that connections believe caused him to disappoint when only sixth in the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes [/color:rdkacmbk]last week.
Chris Richardson, managing director to owners Cheveley Park Stud, said: "We are awaiting the results of tests, but it’s probably likely that we’ll put him away for the year. He had swelling in a joint after Goodwood and that has been irritated again, so rather than persevere with him we’ll probably finish him for the year."
Asked if Kingsgate Native would have a second crack at stallion duties, Richardson added: "It’s too early to say. We haven’t made that decision yet, but it will be made in due course."
Fantastic. The market leader had an injury going into the race. I wonder how much the bookies raked in from that one ?
