This idea is being punted on the Race Caller forum by a chap named Loanshark and is interesting to watch the results.
Perhaps rab123 you may have read it or something similar elsewhere.
The original concept was to bet horse number 12 on the card of the most valuable handicap on a Saturday but loanshark is experimenting with the most valuable race each day for a month.
Yesterday at Ascot (Champions Day) YUFTEN won at 12/1
It has been questioned as to why number 12 on the card is favoured and I can only think in such large handicaps with fields of 30 or thereabouts when the system was originally conceived it could have been at an weight high enough to qualify as a good horse but not burdened with too much weight as to be stopped like so many good horses can be.

I have never even heard of race caller someone sent it on line with another free system
I expect they stole it a gave it away.So todays should be Palisade being the valuable race
of the day.I have run it through HRB but can’t find any clues to which races to concentrate
on.PALISADE was Loanshark’s one selection for today and won at 17/2
As said the originator from many years ago did only play the most valuable handicap on a Saturday when I guess there was numbers of 30 (ish) declared.
Todays thoughts are leaning towards each way bets for the most valuable race each day. Reading loanshark’s posts I am not sure if only handicaps are considered.
It certainly makes for a Saturday “fun bet”.
