It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"January 11, 2022 at 12:20 #1577490Shouldn’t that commentary be in the chronicle of Narnia section.
Tried reading the simarillion but found it hard work. After I read Lord of the rings and hobbit. Don’t know how they stretched the hobbit into 3 movies.

Eliminate the negative.
Latch on to the affirmative.
Don't mess with mister in between.January 11, 2022 at 12:21 #1577491“I would have thought that Farage, of all people, would have approved of Australias strict border controls….or has he had a damascene moment too ( must be an epidemic of them!)”
Like Murray, a failure to understand the issues.
Farage, like many of us, is in favour of:
1) national governments, accountable to their electors, determining national policies, including those on immigration and indeed tourist requirements;
2) those laws, whatever they are, known and fairly applied (which weren’t in the case in D’s situation, as the Australian judge found);
3) personal choice about matters such as vaccination. (Bear in mind that just prior to Christmas, the British government’s figures showed that 75 people had died as a direct result of vaccination. Personally, I accept that small risk, because of the hugely larger number of more elderly people like me who have died of COVID, and am fully vaccinated. But it is well documented that COVID it is very much less of a risk, death-wise, for younger people and were I D’s age the balance of risk would be different and I might well have taken different decisions.)
January 11, 2022 at 12:46 #1577493So what business is it of Farage how Australia controls their borders? He’s not Australian, the only time he mentions them is when he’s telling us that we should have an immigration system like theirs. Is he saying Djokovic should have been waved through no questions asked? Becuase he doesn’t appear to be in favour of that usually. Yes the judge has decided the original decision was wrong but surely he of all people would subscribe to the idea that the proper checks are carried out?
It’s sod all to with vaccines either, Djokovic apparently isn’t vaccinated and has still made it in.
The fact is he’s a grifter who will latch onto to any ’cause’ for his own personal gain. His followers lap it up as demonstrated here.
January 11, 2022 at 14:13 #1577509clivexx: I agree. It is double standards in my part and I apologise. It’s just that I have such respect for Jacinda and get tired of women always being judged by their appearance/attractiveness.
January 11, 2022 at 14:45 #1577515…it’s also unfair to frogs…
January 11, 2022 at 16:29 #1577539No problem Moe and im not one to really go through old posts and go “aha! got you!”. I should have left it anyway
I also agree strongly agree about that about women in public life. Very strongly. Merkel/boris? No contest.
As irritating as she is to me, I would c certainly prefer Jacinda in authority to Farage, who I despise frankly

Value Is EverythingJanuary 12, 2022 at 11:58 #1577641I hope the Australian Federal government now tell him to go.
I really couldn’t care less if he is vacinated or not but, it is unfair to expect everybody else that wishes to visit Australia to be subject to different rules than Djokovic.
The next major tournament is The French Open followed by Wimbledon and then the USA Open.
Are these three different countries going to let him in as well?

January 14, 2022 at 07:10 #1577934Djokovic visa has been cancelled again by the Australian government. He has the right to question their decision but looks like he won’t be defending his title.

January 14, 2022 at 10:33 #1577943And who the “gammons” are too?
Labels like “woke” and “gammon” are puerile.

I don’t particularly care whether he’s allowed to stay or not, that’s Australia’s business, but it is all quite entertaining.
