The 2:45 at Southwell yesterday a maiden Hurdle,Next Twist a six length well backed easy winner 11/4 into 13/8 beat the 6/5 favourite Precious Metal. The two horses had met in their previous race a Maiden Hurdle at Stratford on the 30th of October. Next Twist a drifting 11/2 chance was according to the S/L form never on terms with leaders and was beaten five lengths by yesterday’s Southwell favourite. The weights were exactly the same. Sean Bowen rode Next Twist in both races. My view is had this been a lesser known jockey and trainer (Olly Murphy) the Southwell stewards would at least have asked regarding the turnaround in the form.
