Top stuff again bobby, i had a few pennies on cloudy glen at 44s to watch the race, nothing significant, what we thinking with remastered there, looked to having the winning of it at that point i think?

And 25/1 at newcastle to top it off, great stuff again delighted for you what a day

Thanks Ham, glad you were on mate.

Didn’t quite get the usual buzz for a winner like that, as I was mad keen on Remastered, and I thought he was dead, he would have pissed it. I watched Cloudy cross the line, and took the dog out for a looong walk, I was done in.

Felt much better when I got back though and found out he was in one piece. So happy.

As for the future? If, and at this time it’s a big if with a fall like that, then he could be competitive in a Gold Cup. No doubt in my mind. I’d bet him to win The Ladbrokes/Gold Cup double, at a price I can’t bring myself to mention right now. Gutted. Back to the drawing board for his confidence though, but I’ll definitely be betting him for The Gold Cup, and he’s 100’s right now.

Delighted with Cloudy Glen though, and topped off a good day. Not every day you get winners at 25’s and 33’s, so trying to enjoy it tonight.

Since Day One was an absolute cracker, as I topped up when Hughes hotfooted it there for one ride. Decent ew from Annsam, and a very nice profit in running from Remastered.

Those were mind bendingly good betting selections! I did look at your selections and indeed, I followed you on Since Day One. However, I ignored Cloudy Glen. Joe M had highlighted OntheRopes as ew and Fortescue both of which scored, the latter at 40s (7 places). I did pick NotsoSleepy later which whiskered a win at 16s, but your selection for the Ladbrokes was masterly. Long may your current run continue.

Thanks mate, enjoying the run while I can. Unlucky you didn’t win more with Sleepy, great shout that, and pleased you got on Since Day One.

Cracking card Sunday, with Fairyhouse obviously the main focus.

    Drinmore
Went with a couple here, Midnight Run, and Grand Paradis. Just don’t understand the price of Midnight Run in relation to last time. Would have won but for getting the last wrong. Happy to see Blackmore get the ride. Grand Paradis is going to be a good one, with the only problem being the number of options they have for him. He could run well in races like this. Equally he could be a Kim Muir candidate. Who knows?

    Porterstown
Massive fan of Coko Beach, and I’m deserting him again. I’ll bet him one of these days. He has to build on that Thyestes win this year, and I see him as an ideal National type, and even had him in mind for Cross Country.

Stones and Roses is a horse I really like, and topped up to 11-2, while for all Fiveaftermidnight is way out of the handicap, I can’t leave her at 66’s, after she got me the 100’s EW last time. She’s just a horse I really like.

    Hatton’s Grace
All about Honeysuckle here, but I’m hoping over a short enough trip that my old pal Sire Du Berlais can make the frame here. Not out of the question. EDIT added Ronald Pump EW with Sire Du Berlais a Non Runner

    BARONERACING Hurdle
Dad’s Lad surely has more to offer, but I’m taking a chance on stablemate Whiskey Sour springing a shock here. Fit from, albeit disappointing Flat Runs, and his last hurdle run was highly encouraging.

    Drinmore – Grand Paradis 11’s
    Drinmore – Midnight Run 16’s
Porterstown – Stones and Roses 11’s
    Porterstown – Fiveaftermidnight 66’s EW4
    Hatton’s Grace – Ronald Pump 25’s EW
    BARONERACING Hurdle – Whiskey Sour 33’s EW6

On fire at the moment VTC,always good to see.

Interesting to see where Midnight Shadow goes next,in capable hands, not sure we have seen the best of him yet.

Just a hunch early doors, reckon the posh one has some real talent in the stable, should be interesting as the season progresses, she,s not known for throwing them in at the deep end.Keen to see where stable jockey goes weekend, entries all over the place,HTT in the welsh national trial looks quite promising on the minimal evidence we have seen.

    Catch up soon.

Cheers mate, enjoying it while it lasts.

I’m really hoping that Midnight Shadow goes to Kempton, and I think that he’s worth his place in the line up at least. Hard to say he’ll win it, but I’d love to see him giving it a bash.

Yeah she did me a proper turn at the weekend, and there’ll be a few of hers bet by me over the next few months.

Couldn’t quite manage the excitement of Saturday, but decent enough on Sunday, and the EW’s at 25’s and 33’s on Ronald Pump and Whiskey Sour did the trick. Very happy also with the run of Fiveaftermidnight, and she’ll definitely be one I’ll continue to follow.

One bet tomorrow, and it’s Irregularheartbeat in the last at Clonmel. She really impressed me at Kilbeggan in the spring, and I reckon she’d have won at Galway in September but for getting hampered by a faller two out.

Given quiet enough rides in her two spins over fences so far, but bar a couple of awkward leaps at Cork, I’m very happy with her jumping so far. Into handicap company tomorrow, and I think we’ll see a different approach.

Big price, but worth a go.

Thought I was on to a winner with Irregularheartbeat, but she couldn’t kick on. Frustrating, as fairly sure would’ve got a decent lay in running, but too busy at work, and didn’t catch the race.

Really good days racing Saturday, but had to sacrifice Sandown, Wetherby, and Chepstow. Loads to like there, and on another day could’ve bet Dell Arca, Ornua, and Deise Aba. Deise Aba a frustrating one, as almost took the 9’s in the week.

Busiest betting day for me for some time, but after the last few weeks, I’m happy to cut loose a bit.

    Aintree
The 1255 is a cracker, and Midnightreferendum is not to written off, but with my Palmers Hill and Umbrigado in there, something had to give. As I said a few weeks back, the manner of Palmers Hill win at Wetherby was seriously eyecatching. The body language of Scu told me all I needed to know, and as I said, he won with plenty up his cuff. Unfortunately, the guys on Upping The Ante clocked it too, and he’s been mentioned a couple of times since. I reckoned Kim Muir, but this race confirms their thoughts of The Plate. Either way, he’s of huge interest for various targets after this. Been following him for a while now, and he just might be on the brink of delivering. Umbrigado will win this year too, and no surprise to see a different horse tomorrow. Palmers Hill Non Runner

In The Many Clouds, I’m with Tiger Roll & Wishing and Hoping This is almost certainly a pipe opener for Tiger Roll, and no surprise to see him with a proper gut on him tomorrow. There is just a sliver of a chance though that The National isn’t on the agenda this year, and everything is geared towards The Cross Country. That would give him the green light for a big run tomorrow, regardless of how unlikely that seems now. If in the same form as he was here in April, he’ll have a PU to his name. As for Wishing and Hoping, I honestly think he’ll run a big race at big odds. I’ve topped up the pair of them.

I’ve nothing much to add on The Becher from Big Races

The 1515 is a competitive race, and my old pal Ballyandy will prefer this ground, and has a 10lb claimer to ease the burden. The one I’m particularly keen on though is Auroras Thunder. Solid enough, and I just get the feeling he’s got more to offer.

    Navan

Cracking card at Navan too, and De Name Escapes Me is an easy selection, based on last run.

Winter Escape should run his race too, and he’s due.

    Umbrigado 13-2
De Name Escapes Me 18’s EW 6pls
    Tiger Roll 25’s
    Wishing and Hoping 100’s EW
    Hill Sixteen 50’s
    Hogans Height 27’s
    Vieux Lion Rouge 20’s
    Winter Escape 8’s
    Aurora Thunder EW 5pls/33’s
    Ballyandy 20’s EW 5pls

So close with Hill Sixteen, but once over the initial frustration, happy with a very nice profit on the race in running.

Small profit on the last as well thanks to Ballyandy, and although a smaller betting race, it gave a better look to things after a few disappointing runs from the others. Biggest loser certainly Wishing and Hoping.

Decent racing again today, and hoping for a big run from Geronimo. Also considering an EW on Dawson City.

Only other bet at Kelso will be Not What It Seems in the opener.

One Antepost today, and it’s Master Tommytucker in The Peterborough Chase.

Best line up of the season so far in The John Durkan, and as much as he’ll probably not have this as a priority, I’m a big fan, and can’t pass Janidil at 33’s.

Plenty of others appeal at Punchestown, and really interested in Thedevilscoachman this year, so looking forward to seeing how he copes with fences, while Glenquin Castle is screaming out to be added to the perms.

    **Dawson added after race

    Not What It Seems
    Geronimo 15-2
    Dawson City 40’s EW
    Master Tommytucker 6’s
    Janidil 33’s EW

    Mixed bag Sunday.

Geronimo was brutal, and he was available over 20’s before the off. That told it’s own story, and he was beaten early doors, never going a yard. Master Tommytucker has probably peaked now, and maybe one to be wary of now.

Day was made though by the EW’s on Janidil and Dawson City. I was particularly happy with Janidil, and he should win a decent race this season.

Didn’t expect to be betting Thursday, but once Echo Watt was confirmed, I was wanting on, especially back up in trip. Should go well here.

Well Echo Watt bagged third, but he was a poor third, and never looked like collecting.

Cheltenham Friday, and main race of interest is The Crystal Cup, which covered in Big Races, however the 1425 a decent race too, and I’ve taken Quarenta, to go with the Antepost pick Commodore.

Methodtothemadness an interesting runner earlier on the card, and not ruled her out EW. Worth waiting for to see what the grounds like. Haven’t ruled out Kansas City Chief EW either, but trying to have a relatively quiet weekend.

    Betfair Handicap Chase
    Commodore 12’s
    Quarenta 22’s

    Crystal Cup
    Midnight Maestro 6’s
Mr Diablo 125’s EW 5 Places

    Kansas City Chief 12’s

Well done VtC, what a fine sight it was to see him fly the last couple of fences like a champion chaser!

Really can’t argue with that today, and delighted to have a pair of winners at 12’s.

As Grass said, he was a fine sight, the type of performance that had me mention him for everything a couple of years back. He didn’t quite deliver, but good to see him really bounce back in style.

Biggest disappointment of the day was Midnight Maestro. My only worry was the trip, and I was confident of a big run, but he was a “no show”

Hoping for more luck at Cheltenham tomorrow.

Already covered The Racing Post Gold Cup in Big Races, while I think Midnightreflection can outrun her odds in the last. She’s not out of this.

At Fairyhouse, I’m hoping for positive runs from Gars De Sceaux and Stattler with a view to NH Chase, but certainly too short to bet for this. The one I do like at Fairyhouse is Kitty Galore. Already paid her way for me, and after being highly tried the last twice, back in handicap company with a decent claimer, she must have a shout.

Braganza Bay and Commis D’Office also interesting tomorrow, but just a bit short. Be watching with interest though.

    1230 Fairyhouse – Kitty Galore 16’s
Racing Post – Midnight Shadow 10’s
Racing Post – Siruh Du Lac 33’s EW

Frustrating day yesterday, with Kitty Galore and Midnight Shadow the only “successes”. Very nice profit in running, but a winner that got away. The fall at the second last was a cruncher, but no doubt she’d have won it.

Took my stake back in running on Midnight Shadow, as he was a hefty bet, and it felt like a win at the end.

The other pair ran well enough, before being soundly beaten.

Very tempted by both Flight Deck, and The Worlds End at Carlisle today, but despite the attractive prices, I’ll leave them as it’s a Pertemps Qualifier. Flight Deck very interesting for The Final.

I’ve bet one horse today, and that’s Nakadam, who swerved Kelso for this.

    1440 Carlisle – Nakadam 10’s

Nakadam was a bit of a disappointment, but very happy with how Flight Deck ran, and no surprise to see him as low as 16’s for The Final. Would’ve been even happier if I had actually bet him yesterday.

Betting one tomorrow though, and it’s Midnight Midge. Assumed he’d be too short to bet, but he’s outsider of the bunch. He’ll love it round there on that ground, and he’s in decent form. Already paid his way for me, and even though a few lbs out the handicap, I’d have him bang there. I’ve already taken the 9’s, but Betfred going three places, and if that holds I’ll definitely top up with them.

    1300 Wincanton – Midnight Midge 9’s/EW 3pls

Ran well for a good way, but jumped his chances away again.

Got a few bets on the go today, but the one I’d love to win is my old pal Regal Encore. This is surely his last race, and everything crossed here. This is his race, and after following him since that day at Hexham, when Seeyouatmidnight beat him, I’d love him to go out on a high.

Earlier on the card is another regular of mine, Palmers Hill, but too short to bet. Well treated, definitely ahead of his mark, and the main danger could be fellow JP runner Sully Doc.

Crixus’s Escape, Remastered, and Global Citizen all covered in Big Races. Remastered is a token bet at the price, as too many today to be going in heavy at that price. I’ve bet him for Gold Cup though, and hoping I don’t look like an idiot with that shout if he gets beat here. Crixus’s will be getting topped up to six places, while I’ll be topping up Global Citizen at double the odds I got earlier in the week, which tells its own story. Cashed out Remastered, and added Vintage Clouds

Since Day One back out today, and safe to say he’s not 25’s this time. Just a bit too short today.

The big hurdle at Navan is a headscratcher. Any Second Now looks very interesting runner with Rachel Blackmore booking giving me a headache, and I haven’t made my mind up. It’ll either be him or Suprise Package as the backup bet to Feelgood Island, who despite looking up against it, has a chance at this trip, after really catching the eye at Down Royal.

    Feelgood Island EW 6pls
    Crixus’s Escape 25’s EW/33’s
    Vintage Clouds 20’s
    Regal Encore 16’s
    Global Citizen EW 5pls
