It was only an ordinary Bath maiden, but I quite liked the look of Aesterius yesterday. Looked the part, very straightforward, and despite racing on the pace, very strong in the final furlong. Generally put in at 12/1. The Windsor Castle was also mentioned, but can’t see why you wouldn’t be excited enough to go for the better race with a likely smaller field, and less draw emphasis.

Aesterius eased after Shareholder’s win today. Shareholder looks a very well developed two-year-old, and you wonder how long he will have what looks a physical advantage. I know the trainer committed to this race, but given he is as short as 4/1 you might be inclined to think he had won by daylight, rather than falling over the line in receipt of 7lbs. Personally, I thought Celtic Chieftain was more impressive in winning at Navan.

Will the favourite prove worthy of his namesake?

I was torn between Shareholder and Loom. So I’ve decided to back both.

    WD Winners.

Was torn between Shareholder & Moving Force. Sided with Moving Force due to the 7lb pull and the fact that he was a decent price w/o Shareholder.

Yesterdays bad luck has continued today.
