Nominate on this thread those you’d like to be included in the vote for 2013 TRF Jumps Trainer of the Year award
December 6, 2013 at 17:55 #460943I nominate
Willie Mullins
.
He was leading trainer at the Cheltenham Festival with five winners, with Hurricane Fly regaining the Champion Hurdle being the highlight.
He trained 193 winners in the 2012-13 Irish NH season, amassing over €3.9 million in prize money. He already has 88 winners this season which is more than twice as much as his closest pursuer Gordon Elliott on 34.

Seconded,
.Has a monopoly over in Ireland, dominated Cheltenham and has the most talented yard in racing… IMO.

December 11, 2013 at 13:48 #461476Also Willie Mullins
nobody comes close this year.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...December 12, 2013 at 16:15 #461569There’s the obvious two, one in Ireland and one in Britain. But two who’ve done better this year than might expect are:
Tony Martin
: Including nice double at Cheltenham. Beginning to get better horses again.
Emma Lavelle
: Has come back from a disasterous 2012/13 season with a sensational second half of the year. Strike rate improving to 24% over hurdles this season (better than Nicholls!) and 22% chases, with 29 points profit backed blindly over obsticles. Has one or two novices with Cheltenham potential too.

for planning a Cheltenham coup or two every year.
