Fehily wrist injury ‘not as bad as first feared’
BY TOM KERR 10:27AM 30 NOV 2010
NOEL FEHILY could return to race-riding within ten days, ample time to take the William Hill King George VI ride on Kauto Star on Boxing Day, after discovering his wrist injury was not as serious as first feared.
Fehily, who stepped in for the injured Ruby Walsh to ride Paul Nicholls’ stable stars before he himself joined the injury list on November 26, hopes to return in time for Cheltenham’s meeting on December 10 and 11.
Fehily said: "I saw the specialist last night and he was over the moon with the wrist.
"It was not as bad as I first feared – it was only dislocated, and not fractured and broken – and the specialist told me to kick on with it!"
He told Betfair: "It’s a massive relief, as it looked very bleak after the fall on Rivaliste, and I could be back riding in the next ten days, with a possibility that I could even be riding at Cheltenham next week."
Nicholls said: "It is great news for Noel that the injury isn’t as bad as was initially thought.
"I was gutted for him but if he is back for Cheltenham next week, I will have some decent rides waiting for him."

It certainly looks like that, shame cause I was looking forward to Twist Magic winning the Tingle Creek this weekend.
I’m happy he won’t miss the ride on Kauto though, he deserves all the big rides he gets.
