That’s Nathan Hughes not National Hunt.

Not to be taken too seriously as only playing with very small stakes, this is just something to keep my mind occupied with.
3.30 Newmarket – [b:ucwdk9m2]Dever Dream[/b:ucwdk9m2] 5/1 (bog)
Won 3 class 5 races without breaking sweat followed by a big step up in class and was far from disgraced when finishing 3rd when tracking Seta. The going today is the same as that race and the step back to 6F should suit aswell.
3.40 Curragh – [b:ucwdk9m2]Free Judgement[/b:ucwdk9m2] 4/1 (bog)
Has been inconsistent but his 2nd to Canford Cliffs in the Irish Guineas was a standout performance at same course, that race was over the mile trip, this race is 7F but worth a bet at the price.
both 50p wins.

Up against the O’Brien horse Samuel Morse but the camp must rate this one highly as it was entered in the railway stakes but withdrawn due to coughing, so making debut here in a group 3. The sire Leroidesanimaux was once a breeders cup mile favourite. I’ve had a fair few quid on this one at 25’s for next years guineas incase Bolger has another New Appoach, Teofilo on his hands.
today’s race 50p win.

July 18, 2010 at 09:28 #307066Good luck Nathan! Its a lot easier said than done, putting winners up on here as my own "Prophet" thread shows and even some of the "Big boys" on here have waved the white flag after a bad run! If you like a challenge and you are disciplined you will succeed,it helps to have an eye for spotting talent/talentless abilities and you can hold your own there!
July 19, 2010 at 07:56 #307191Thank you for the good luck wishes Gordon.
Gordon your the king of foresight well here’s a bit of my own foresight and it’s not creeping because my vote would go to

Now all I need is Mr Wilson to lay me some odds.

July 19, 2010 at 21:41 #307385I"m afraid Nathan that there"s more chance of Youmzain winning the Arc than me winning that mate, reason being its not just my incredible Foresight and knowledge of horses, but the way i write my posts that P*ss people off,i am the finest example of a big mouth who can actually back it up!!
Even when i am trying to set myself up for a fall,i come up smelling of roses,re- Overturn winning the Northumberland plate! sorry for intruding and lets see you put a winner or two up for Glorious Goodwood!

A disappointing debut, well beaten, loomed up to the leaders looking ok but found nothing. Still one to keep an eye on though as obviously held in good regard and has an entry on Thursday in another Group 3 over 7f.

Finished 4th in the Eclipse but I think that run can be written off as a prep for this to get a run into the horse who was off the track for 98 days prior. 10f and trying to make the pace front running was not ideal for Dar Re Mi who is much better held up and running at this distance of 12f.

Fencing Master
4/5 (bog)
This looks a good chance for Fencing Master to get a confidence boost after running in some tough races since 2nd in the Dewhurst as a 2 year old. Last time out at Ascot was over a longer trip and he will be more suited back at the mile. Opposition hasn’t got much to shout about and have not run in anything as good as Fencing Master.
£4.00 win.

Should of took heed of ATR’s Gary O’Brien who tipped the winner. Not sure that Fencing Master took to the yielding ground he was all over the place down the straight. Nothing now to Saturday although I’m tempted to back Famous Name but would want more than the 5/4 on offer at present.

Hayley Turner very bullish about this one today and so she should be, showed a good turn of foot on debut and then followed that up with a very easy win with Turner just motionless from start to finish with the horse seemingly have a high cruising speed. Beaten a head at Royal Ascot against 1000 Guineas ante post fav Memory who has since put in a stunning performance at Newmarket.

Have not had a proper look at this race more a patriotic pick than anything else. Ran in some good races and done ok on numerous occasions behind the likes of Canford Cliffs and Dick Turpin.

Having looked back at the Ascot race perhaps I was wrong in thinking a mile was this horse’s best trip as after a slow start and being pushed along a fair way from home he finished strongly enough and done his best work at the finish. This is another step up in trip but he holds an entry for the St Leger so I’m confident he will see out the trip. His run 6 days ago wasn’t great but I’m prepared to give him another chance on better ground.

July 27, 2010 at 09:23 #309017Good on you Nathan for showing loyalty to this one. There’s no sitting on the fence with you, is there? In for a penny in for a pound I say. Good luck. I’ll be watching this one closely and cheering him all the way to the winner’s enclosure.
July 27, 2010 at 09:36 #309019Thanks Ken. The best thing about betting in small stakes is I could lose 100 in a row and all I have to do is go out and clean the neighbours windows and if I’m lucky I might get a cup of tea and a biscuit or even a piece of cake.

The mugs have been reading again, Fencing Master now 12’s best price.

Film Score was very sad.

It was a shame Fencing Master couldn’t hold onto a place. The pace looked quick and he might of been better coming from deeper although the winner wasn’t too far behind Fencing Master on the way around. I was in a really good mood tonight after Somerset’s cricket team made it into Final’s day of 20/20(I’m on them winning it at 9’s) and to celebrate I’ve nailed my colours to the mast and have backed…………..wait for it……………………………………….
