Don’t know about larrikins, but its Bells Beach was supposedly where Patrick Swayze paddled away from Keanu Reeves into monster waves at the end of Point Break:

apparently though the budget didn’t stretch that far  and in fact it was filmed at Indian Beach, Oregon.
