Was on course for this one , meeting used to be sponsored by a posh restaurant , was on course in 84 when Desert Orchid won Tolworth at that meeting ,cannot find a video of 84 meeting online

What a round of jumping by Lean Ar Aghaidh – pity that he pulled way too hard and didn’t get home. Was interesting to hear Graham Goode refer to the last three down the back as “the island fences”, as I always thought the were the “railway” fences.

This Sandown Saturday along with February one used to be a fabulous days racing when the hurdle course going didn’t seem so different from the chase course as it does now
