    Here are the rules for the new 2018-19 Ante Post Tipping Competition.

    1. Competition runs from now until the end of Royal Ascot 2019.

    2. All selections must be made before final declarations are made.

    3. No compulsory races or bonus races.

    4. Each bet will either be 2pts win or 1pt ew and you can have 2 different bets on the same race if you wish.

    5. Minimum of 60 pts to be used and there is NO maximum.

    6. All ew bets to be settled at 1/4 odds.

    7. Any non runner counts as a losing bet unless horse was balloted out.

    8. Bets must be quoted from one of the following bookmakers on Oddschecker BET365, SKYBET, LADBROKES, WILLIAM HILL, BETFAIR, PADDY POWER, UNIBET, CORALS, BETFRED, BOYLESPORTS, TOTESPORT, BETWAY, BETVICTOR.

    9. You can bet on any race in the UK, Ireland or any International race as long as prices are offered by any of the 13 bookmakers above.

    10.In the event of a tie the winner will be the tipster with the biggest priced winner, if still a tie then the tipster with the second biggest priced winner and so on.

    11.ANYBODY can join in, just start tipping on the relevant thread.

    12.I shall keep an up to date list of everyone’s outstanding bets for ease of reference.

    Venture To Cognac still leads at the top thanks to a 33-1 place on Altyn Orda in the Sun Chariot, a bet matched by Triptych who also lands the Abbaye with Mabs Cross @ 9-1. Two wins also for Nathan with Quorto landing the National Stakes (15-8) and Son Of Rest dead heating in the Ayr Gold Cup (7-1). Finally, Middle_Of_March has the Atalanta winner with Veracious (3-1).

    A profitable time in October for VTC as Rock Eagle lands the Old Rowley Cup (8-1) and Frodon wins the Old Roan Chase (9-1 ew) plus there are ew returns on Champions Day with Donjuan Triumphant (33-1) and Sir Erec (33-1).

    Middle_Of_March lands the Long Distance Cup with Stradivarius (7-4), Nathan Hughes wins the Dewhurst with Too Darn Hot (Evens), TheKryptonFactor has an ew return with Benbatl in the Cox Plate (25-1) and finally Kris lands the Autumn Stakes with Persian King (11-4).

    VTC carries on the good work in November thanks to Present Man’s victory in the Badger Ales Trophy (7-1), greenasgrass also lands a very nice ew return on the Melbourne Cup with Finche (50-1). There was a profitable Breeders’ Cup for Triptych with Line Of Duty (5-1) & City Of Light (7-2) and for CharlesOlney with Newspaperofrecord (3-1) & Stormy Liberal (10-1). Red Rum 77 lands the Ladbroke Intermediate Hurdle with Global Citizen (13-2) and finally Bristol De Mai wins the Betfair Chase for myself (6-1).

    Middle_Of_March maintains his lead at the top thanks to Thistlecrack’s 2nd place in the King George. There are also ew returns from Nathan thanks to Ramses De Teillee in the Welsh National (7-1) and Monalee in the Savill’s Chase (10-1). Kris has a good day on Tingle Creek Day with Altior landing the big race (5-6) and 2 winners at Aintree from Definitly Red (7-4) and Warriors Tale (11-1) but honours this time around go to Red Rum 77 with Elegant Escape landing the Welsh National (10-1) and Paisley Park winning the Long Walk Hurdle (8-1) plus Supasundae’s place return in the Ryanair Hurdle (12-1).

    Two winning bets for Kris in this update Japan ew in the Derby (40-1) and Jash winning the King Charles II (3-1). Two winning bets also for Triptych with Beat Le Bon landing the Each Way Edge Handicap (12-1) plus an ew return on Royal Intervention in the Sandy Lane (16-1).     BigG took the lead with Phoenix Of Spain and Beatboxer winning at big odds recently added to nice winners Supasundae and Reserve Tank at Aintree and he maintained that lead thanks to Move Swiftly’s 20-1 win in the Duke Of Cambridge, well done BigG on finishing with such a good profit. VTC also finishes with a profit thanks to a host of wins including Euchen Glen, Chatez and the biggest priced winner of the lot Sire Du Berlais (50-1). Well done both of you and thanks to everyone for taking part.

    Great scoring Graham you certainly are the returning ante post king :yahoo: with shrewd AP bets across both the NH scene from Cheltenham to Royal Ascot and 20/1 Move Swiftly on the flat you’ve managed to do just that and run away with this competition :good: and from Bobby in 2nd place, another great AP judge..well done BigG and Vtc for staying ahead of the bookies this year :yahoo:

    Thanks very much all, I think I’m becoming the Jamie Spencer of Ante Post betting.
    Same as last year, I get myself well behind (I was still plumb last before Aintree)
    and then weave my way through late on. I’m glad I got there in the end. Well done
    Bobby ending up in profit, it could easy have gone your way. You had more than a few
    close calls, Beat The Bank in the Queen Anne recently at 25s comes to mind…you were
    robbed mate. Many thanks Pat for running this, it goes without saying it’s one of my
    favourites. Looking forward to the start of a new one :good:

    I loved the craic from him, gloriously over the top, but he certainly knew his stuff too :good:
