April 1, 2018 at 21:43 #1348818Just a reminder regarding the rules in particular rule no. 5 re the minimum number of points needed to be placed in the competition….
Here are the rules for the new 2017-18 Ante Post Competition.
1. Competition runs from now until the end of Royal Ascot 2018.
2. All selections must be made before final declarations are made.
3. No compulsory races or bonus races.
4. Each bet will either be 2pts win or 1pt ew and you can have 2 different bets on the same race if you wish.
5. Minimum of 60 pts to be used and there is NO maximum.
6. All ew bets to be settled at 1/4 odds.
7. Any non runner counts as a losing bet unless horse was balloted out.
8. Bets must be quoted from one of the following bookmakers on Oddschecker BET365, SKYBET, TOTESPORT, BOYLESPORTS, BETFRED, SPORTINGBET, BETVICTOR, PADDY POWER, STAN JAMES, LADBROKES, CORALS AND WILLIAM HILL.
9. You can bet on any race in the UK, Ireland or any International race as long as prices are offered by any of the 12 bookmakers above.
10.In the event of a tie the winner will be the tipster with the biggest priced winner, if still a tie then the tipster with the second biggest priced winner and so on.
11.ANYBODY can join in, just start tipping on the relevant thread.
12.I shall keep an up to date list of everyone’s outstanding bets for ease of reference.
I hope that covers everything, anything else just let me know.
April 2, 2018 at 20:19 #1348871Pat, just a note saying that Stan James are no longer in business. Unibet have taken responsibility for any outstanding bets made on the Stan James site. I know this because of my Ante Post bet on AS DE MEE which I placed with Stan James at the same time as writing it in your competition.

You've got to accentuate the positive.
Eliminate the negative.
Latch on to the affirmative.

June 22, 2018 at 10:46 #1357924Hi Pat, just want to make my appreciation for your Ante Post comp.
First with 2 days left well done Big G.
Second I’m clearly better in National Hunt races than Flat. It was your competition which made me consider and back REGAL FLOW (MIDLANDS NATIONAL WINNER AT 40/1).

You've got to accentuate the positive.
Eliminate the negative.
Latch on to the affirmative.
Don't mess with mister in between.June 23, 2018 at 01:14 #1358116Cheers Red, I do like all these comps. They certainly help to keep the grey matter ticking over

BigG still continues on top with just the one day left, some big priced winners needed by the rest of us now.
It’s good to see all the winners, certainly makes up for all the losers.
June 23, 2018 at 02:36 #1358124Firstly, let me say what a brilliant shout that Masar post was. Had missed that but just seen it. Superb stuff Pat.
Secondly, I too have to agree with Raymo and thankyou for running this comp. I’ve very much enjoyed it since joining in these last few months.
June 23, 2018 at 21:54 #1358368There were three winning bets for Middle_Of_March over the last 2 days namely
Hardwicke
Crystal Ocean
win @ 9-4Coronation Stakes
Veracious
ew @ 16-1Diamond Jubilee
Bound For Knowhere
ew @ 14-1Plus I landed the win in the Diamond Jubilee with Merchant Navy @ 4-1 but no one was able to overhaul BigGat the top of the table so well done BigG on landing such a tidy profit throughout the comp.

June 23, 2018 at 22:05 #1358369If there is enough interest I am happy to run the competition again. I will be away for a couple of days but will get the ball up and running on Tuesday. Anyone can post any selections on here if they wish before Tuesday. Don’t forget we will be using Betfair prices for this comp.
June 23, 2018 at 23:14 #1358376Well done BigG on winning the Ante Post Comp to go with the Telegraph one today…
Cheers for running the competition Pat, I think it’s up there as one of my favourites, please continue to keep it going, I’ll be joining in for sure.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
June 24, 2018 at 01:27 #1358384Thanks Pat and Nathan, I’m a bit shocked I hung on today. I had 2 down for today but as both
were non runners I felt a bit like a sitting duck to be shot at. I knew it would be close, and
you weren’t far off MOM starting with Chrystal Ocean winning and I thought Bound For Nowhere
looked all over the winner until late on and not to mention Dreamfield who was mugged on the
post. If they had gone in there wouldn’t have been much in it.Many thanks Pat for running this, it must be be a helluva lot of work checking this one out
and it’s very much appreciated. Looking forward to starting again if you can find the time
to keep it going
June 24, 2018 at 16:32 #1358451Well played BigG! Really good score.
I started the comp a bit late so I’m delighted to finish in the top three and in a profit. Don’t talk to me about Dreamfield bud – I’m not quite over that one yet. Lol. One of my biggest bets of the week.
Cheers for organising it pat. I will be joining in again if the comp does indeed return.
