    Fabulous.

After todays scintillating effort to beat not one but TWO horses, I can’t see that OR of 18 lasting long.

She’s leapt from “shockingly bad” to merely “poor” in one fell swoop!

She’ll be heading for the giddy heights of “moderate” next!

“She’s leapt from ‘shockingly bad’ to merely ‘poor’ in one fell swoop!”

Like the great Groucho Marx once said “I worked my way up from nothing to a state of extreme poverty.”

    Love it.

The great Groucho Marx was a man so far ahead of his time it’s unreal.

Our heroine is back in action tomorrow evening, in the 17:40 Cazoo Classified Stakes at Brighton. Although as low as 16/1 currently with the likes of Paddy Power and Betfair Sportsbook, she’s a general 18/1 shot but a standout 40/1 with Bet365. The RP write-up is as follows:

“Has shown little (0-10); difficult to see how she can trouble the principals”.

The Timeform write-up is equally downbeat:

“150/1 and visored for first time, seven lengths 7th of 9 in minor event at this C&D (soft), 28 days ago. Merely passing beaten rivals”.

That last sentence is particularly biting, if no doubt true. Her rating has shot up from 18 to 25 – a 39% increase! – so hope springs eternal. Aidan Keeley, a 7lb claimer who replaces Jimmy Quinn in the saddle, is in decent form of late (2-9 in the last 14 days). Run well Rah :good:

Smart move putting up a 7 lbs claimer to allow her to run off the same mark. ;-)

These media form-book boffins clearly don’t know an upward curve from a jug of milk.

As stated above, a thoroughly-merited 7lb hike on her latest plucky effort and a career-best RPR of 28 to boot, up 25lb on her previous run.

If that rate of improvement is replicated in each of her next four runs the Breeders’ Cup Sprint will be the logical end-of-year target.

In the shorter term, the 7lb claim is a boon and I think her prospects of beating at least one of her rivals tomorrow are bright!

The market taking shape now, with Bet365’s 40/1 from last night being far less of an outlier, as most firms are going 28/1 or 33/1.

A tremendous performance to beat OR 55 on the AW Jack Ryan by SEVEN lengths.

Why, she could be rated 76 on that!

No need to dwell on the nine who beat her.

    Onwards and upwards….

I see she went off at 200/1, so shame on Paddy Power and Betfair Sportsbook for offering the paltry 16/1 on Monday evening. In the tracker for next time however, it’s going to be some training feat from Suzy Best to get this one in front at the line.

I saw that – forgot to check the Betfair Exchange SP but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was much higher.

Glad she’s in your tracker – wouldn’t want to miss the next run!

“it’s going to be some training feat from Suzy Best to get this one in front at the line.”

Maybe we should send her (the filly, not the trainer) to Aidan O’Brien. Then we’ll see how good he really is.

One defeat and Gladders already wants to switch yards – he’s worse than Daniel Wildenstein.

Brighton’s big meeting of the year gets some much needed gloss, with our intrepid heroine jazzing up tomorrow’s 4.20 race. It’s a 7F, 9-runner classified stakes, with Rah the outsider of the bunch at 66/1. The prospects don’t look promising.

    Tremendous tracking, sir!

To the untrained eye, the flying filly might appear to have marginally less chance than a piece of toast.

However, those blessed with the ability to think outside the box (of sanity) will readily point out she’s accumulated a wealth of track experience on her last five outings, she hit a career-best with an RPR of 28 on her penultimate outing and showed this was no fluke with a solid 27 last time out.

The 7f trip is a riddle wrapped in a conundrum but it’s worth pointing out that, when tried at a mile a second time in January, she beat a horse.

I have every confidence in her (to complete the course).
