Well OK, the Nell Gwyn is now no great indicator for the 1000 Gns – but watch out for Sweet Travel on the first day of the Craven meeting. A maiden but an interesting challenger that racked up some serious times when coming 2nd on 3 occasions lat year. Andre Fabre doesn’t send challengers to Newmarket unless he’s serious.

Imo i think that Richards Hills is on the wrong 1. I know there has been alot of talk about Wassema but Mostaqueleh has very good form in the book and Wassema cud turn out being overhyped like Discuss was. I think Stoute has a good chance of a winner 2moro with Galctic Star in the maiden at 4.20.

Have to go with Longchamps Lad here. Those placed runs both earned a RP speed figure of 100. For me, nuff said.

I’d speculate that part of the reason for Richard Hills’ choice is the greater likelihood that he has sat on Wasseema this spring at home whilst it is well known that Dunlop will not have jockeys down to ride work. Have to say I agree with Irsheyes that of the Hamdan horses I prefer Matin Dwyer’s mount.

I do think Hamdan could have a good day with Mashaahed looking to hold strong claims in the 10f maiden.<br>

Very disappointing. I thought he’d show tremendous improvement this year in this race over 7. But I should have checked the stats (atrocious) and committed less.

Surely it isn’t all that hard to write ‘she’ when the race was for fillies and a trial for the 1000 Guineas. Sorry but getting the gender wrong is a pet hate of mine for all i’m culpable on occasions.

I tend to edit out of my consideration such things as I consider unimportant in a given context, David.

Sorry if it offends your sensibilities, old chap. Sometimes I have many other things on my mind, which mean I will be prone to only give minimal attention to details relating to lesser matters before me.

It is unfortunate in a way, and I can see that. But I’d be happy if that took high rank high among my worst failings.  Anyway, all’s well that ends well. You’re not a bad dog, I know that. Sorry, can’t help making the occasional jest, however puerile..!
