If Oscars were being handed out for this seasons NH performances who should get the awards?

    Here are my candidates…

Horse of the year : BIG BUCKS, Runner Up PEDDLERS CROSS

Mare of the Year : QUEVEGA, Runner Up FOR BILL

Training performance of the Year : Willie Mullins for Hurricane Fly (Irish CH) and Quevega (Chelteham Mares Stayers)

Riding performance of the year : Katie Walsh for her rides at Cheltenham and Punchestown

Most Promising newcomer : QUOTICA DES POYANS

Young Horse of the year : BARIZAN

    Rotten Tomato : DUNGUIB

I’m sure thare are other categories that could be added

For me the ride of the season was Sam Thomas on Winterwood at Warwick in February.

After sliding on the turf after a bad mistake at 4 out most would have given up but Sam nursed him back in and was in contest at the final flight and went on to score very readily and the fact it happened after AP fell off Denman at Newbury had a sort of reward after being jocked off and showed what a good jockey Sam Thomas is.

Most overated horse for me is Kalahari King who is just falling short below the top class threshold yet everyone seems to think he is better than Master Minded and Big Zeb well im sorry but he simply isnt.

Good candidate and most poignant timing, of course he should never have been at Warwick that day
