I was proud to see Harry, the son of Diana Spencer [deleted] serving in Afghanistan.

Public speaking is the #1 phobia in the UK, so he showed real balls spending 2 whole months doing interviews for various camera crews.

He’s a great model and sends a positive message to the young people of the UK:

Even if you’re thick, [deleted] and plan to spend the rest of your life living off state benefits, you’ll get a lot of respect if you take a job for a couple of months.

Steve – while I have some sympathy with your sentiments there are certain things which we cannot publicly publish (as I think you are only too well aware). Therefore I’ve edited your post above.

I’m not a Royalist and I don’t agree with the war in either Afghanistan or Iraq; however, I admire the lad for going; no more so than all the other servicemen fighting in both countries, but he has still gone up in my estimation.

    Fair enough.

It’s specualtion and, for all I know, it maybe possible for two non-redheads to produce a child that’s ginger.

In that case, someone owes me 39 years’ pocket money.

    Who is it?

Just to add my geneticist pedantry – it is entirely possible for two non-redheads to produce a red haired child, especially if one of the parents is blond. The blond parent can have the blond gene and ginger gene, and either can then be dominant in the offspring.

The evidence of a ginger gene present in Diana’s family is shown by the current Earl Spencer (who Harry actually strongly resembles).

Subject close to my heart, being redhaired child of blond and brunette parents, but thankfully similar enough in appearance to my father to avoid all the milkman jokes….

colour of eyes very important; a science teacher friend of mine says they never mention this when teaching about genetics because it could cause a lot of problems; personally think that, if you look closely at Harry’s features he is the image Prince Charles – if there was doubt over either of the boys it would be William who doesn’t look at all like the Royals.

He should resign his commission in the Army with immediate effect for using the terminology ‘PAKI’ and ‘RAGHEAD’. This language is completely unacceptable from a modern day Royal.

Notwithstanding the fact that I’m Irish and couldn’t give 2 f***s about the Royal Family, it’s typical tabloid journalism jumping on a 3-year old incident and turning it into front-page news, and on a day when there was a man shot dead today defending his family and his livelihood – there are far bigger things to worry about than the likes of this story!

And as usual, the Muslim community aren’t long in jumping on the bandwagon – a pity they are not as quick to condemn terrorism by Muslim activists.

Harry seems to have grown up a lot since then – an apology is more than sufficient.

David, I hope you haven’t presented Cormack with a dilemma, having only last evening removed a member from the forum for using astericks.

Given your location David, I would have thought you were more aware than most about how people can be sympathetic towards causes they believe to be fighting injustices, and equally sensitive about terminlogy which attempts to ridicule their religion or demean thir culture.

We recently had an excellent thread in this very forum about what constitutes racism.

I think there was a concensus that it is the context in which the words are used rather than the words themselves, that is important and I also think David sums the situation up perfectly.

I would also add that had it been any officer, other than Prince Harry, then it would not even have merited a mention.

What annoys me more than anything else though is the attitude of an oversensitive minority in the country which means people are expected to walk on eggshells and think twice every time they open their mouths lest they offend someones sensibilities. Well you know what I am sick to death of it and I fully intend saying exactly what I think in future and if I offend anybody then it is their problem not mine.

Spelling variations of noble anglo-saxon oaths are rather more agreeable than lazy asterix.

nb. ****** and twat are okay, having passed the Grasshopper test

I too couldn’t give 2 farks about the Royal Family, or the Royle Family, but poor Harry was only behaving in the flippant manner expected of a young man in the company of a group of other young men, unappealing as that scenario is.

    A word of warning Paul.

I used to say exactly what I thought and have since become the most ignored man on the forum.
