Thankfully no market yet, as got a few on the shortlist…..

Ontheropes was an early fancy for The Kerry National, but he missed out, but this looks equally suitable. Really interested in him this season, and he’s surely miles ahead of his mark. I wouldn’t be concerned about the long layoff, as he’s in the best hands, and he’s a strong #1 for me right now.

Plenty of stablemates to consider, but I’d also like Annamix on his Listowel run. He’ll surely win a decent pot this season.

I followed Aramax closely last year, and he’s hovering on a mark they can really take advantage of this year. Hampered out of it in The Kerry National, so that PU can be written off. No ways he’s a 140 horse, and he looks ideal for at least one big handicap this year, and should easily pay his way. On my radar for a few races, but no reason why he can’t run a big race here first.

Also in the JP silks are the Gavin Cromwell pair, Ilikedwayurthinkin, and Alfa Mix. The former might struggle to get in, which will at least make things clearer for me, as I do like him. No such worries for Alfa Mix, and I see him as perfect for this. Be interested to see what he opens at, should there be an Antepost market. Another who’s very interesting for the season ahead, caught the eye a couple of times.

The very promising Fairyhill Run should get in here after the disappointment of missing out at Listowel, and the yard are having some time of it. Serious chance.

Batcio was very impressive when last seen over fences, and with a recent spin over hurdles under his belt, could be one at a price.

Probably a good thing for me then that there’s no market right now. At this stage I could see myself having three in this, and main hope definitely….

Agree with most of this. First one that catches my eye is Alfa Mix.

Cavalry Master and Waitnsee are the two I’m most interested in.

Coral and Ladbrokes have this priced up now.

My main hope Ontheropes is at 8’s, but given the no show at Listowel, I’d rather have 6’s once declared.

I’m going to have an early bet in this with Spyglass Hill at 16-1.

I like Cavalry Master a lot, but at this time, my second bet is looking like being Fairyhill Run

I have two thirds of these within 12lbs, which is close for a chase.

    165 Chatham Street Lad
    161 Ontheropes
    159 Aramax
    158 Mister Fogpatches
157 A Wave Of The Sea
    157 Funky Dady

The top three have strong credentials for this contest. I’ll take Chatham Street Lad to have a little too much class for these over a trip he saw out well enough in heavy ground in a Grade 3 novice contest at Limerick when last seen.

I took the opening 10’s for Ontheropes, and a bit more at 9’s.

The type of race where I would normally have at least a couple running for me, and I do like Aramax, Fairyhill Run, and Spyglass Hill, but most of mine have been running backwards this week, so sticking with just the one.

    Ontheropes 10’s

Nice price Bobby. Too short for me now and to be honest since Alfa Mix didn’t get dec’d i have went cold of anything in the race. Hard one to pick for me so i’ve left it. I’ve added Ontheropes for the NHC though.

Cheers Jack. Yeah, he’s on my radar for everything this season, including the NH Chase. I’ve already bet two for that, but it’s one of my bigger betting races of the year, so I’ll probably be adding him myself.

    sticking with just the one.

It only took you the one! Well done, good performance. JOB horses in good heart now after a bug in the yard or whatever it was last year- got to be a few rabbits in that hat.

Wd Bobby! Just saw he drifted back out as well!

Hopefully they have half an eye on March, but they might as well keep him going while he’s fit and well.
