Willie’s Cheltenham dominance has already affected Ante-Post turnover for the festival, I’m sure. And matters can only get worse.
He can’t be blamed for that, but it’s taken some of the joy from my season, and that of others who specialise in AP betting.
Bookies should be setting up dual markets on all the races where his horses have a strong say.
November 27, 2014 at 12:25 #496568Completely agree Joe.
Nobody’s fault but it’s even more of a punting nightmare then ever.
An un-raced Mullins novice will turn blue across the boards as soon as it’s even entered in a tin-pot €5k Thurles maiden, proving little more at that stage than "Yes, he is still alive".
Which leads me onto my current obsession; when every novice in the yard appears to be towards the top of one or more of the Cheltenham novice events, where is Max Dynamite ?
Ricci paid €200k for the horse who had been 8th in the French derby, he has a tentative entry (tentative insomuch that he’s out today) in the Royal Bond on Sunday and is not in a single list for any race in March.
I even tried PP and they won’t quote me odds for the Supreme

Running scared ?
EDIT: 365 just priced him up. At 16/1

I take back my opening statement. The bookies are gutless when it comes to this.

Certain to be a big danger to all, he’s sure to be bang there when they go over the last and he responds well to the stick.
As long as the jockey doesn’t set him alight too early, he should be able to use his explosive turn of foot to blow his rivals away and become the most exciting novice since My Tnt Or Yours

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

The infamous pack shuffler starts his annual attack on ante-post punters.
Why not just say that Vautour is an Arkle horse and Tell Us More is a Neptune horse until something on the track actually suggests otherwise? Punters look for the most suitable race for the horse, surely it shouldn’t be any different for a trainer?
December 18, 2014 at 10:20 #498798Willie doesn’t have to do anything.
If he said a horse was a certain runner in a race then changed his mind late on then that would be wrong. Basically he cant win.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
December 22, 2014 at 22:19 #499285I don’t know who betway are but they go 17/20 that Willie has over 3.5 Festival winners. Surely that’s for day 1 only.
