At the latest declaration stage Mullins has only three left in the World hurdle. Annie Power, Vroom vroom mag and Nichols canyon. Mullins has one the mares hurdle plenty of times so i can see him running one of the mares in the world hurdle still. He also had morning run as a good chance in the mares hurdle.
My prediction of what they will do is:
CHAMPION HURDLE: Annie Power, Nichols Canyon, Arctic Fire, Sempre Medici
MARES Hurdle: Morning Run, petite parisienne, VVM
WORLD HURDLE:????However what I think they should do is:
CH: NC,SM,AF
MH: MR, PP
WH: AP
Ryanair: VVMFebruary 18, 2016 at 09:47 #1234130Supreme + Neptune markets suggest to me Min could be out of the Supreme + Yorkhill could be in instead. Min Champion Hurdle? Or injured?
February 18, 2016 at 10:13 #1234131Min is only doing what it should be with Faugheen out and Annie Power looking certain to be out of the Mares…the multiple bets that have gone up in smoke with those two races means Min should be drifting….I would expect min to be near 3/1 on the off now bookies have so much to play with!
February 18, 2016 at 10:36 #1234133A min drift is justified. He was only that price because he was included in so many multiple bets. His true price based on form is 5/1 he was only 7/4 because of the liability the bookies had.
February 18, 2016 at 15:03 #1234158How about this for a scenario.
Annie Power – Champion Hurdle
Vroum Vroum Mag – World Hurdle
Limini – Mares Hurdle
Karalee – Mares Novice Hurdle
Now granted the above is about as likely as a Charles Byrnes gamble going wrong (another beauty today 4/1 – 4/6) but all those above have the same owner and stable, Karalee made an impression on me when I saw her win at Killarney last year and would in my opinion be good enough to win the novice. Would that give the owner the biggest chance of winning all four of those races?
February 18, 2016 at 15:18 #1234160Karalee ruled out for the season a while back
February 18, 2016 at 15:53 #1234164Hadn’t seen that, cheers rocky
February 29, 2016 at 14:27 #1235843Mullins press day today:
Black Herc – probably RSA or JLT: 4-miler very unlikely
Yorkhill ‘leaning toward Supreme’
Long Dog – Nep or AB, probably NEP
A Toi Phil – probably Neptune
Nich Canyon – ‘will have another think about World Hurdle, but connections keen on Champion Hurdle’
Semp Medici – definite for CH tho ‘needs to find 10lbs’
Roi De Francs – RSA or NH chase
on VAUTOUR: “With different tactics (to Kempton), he should definitely stay. It’s the Gold Cup, the race we all aspire to win.”
…rest of the news will probably be on Sportinglife.com by now
February 29, 2016 at 15:53 #1235848Annie Power / Vroum Vroum Mag – “We’ve got to supplement her (Annie Power), but Vroum Vroum Mag would look a possible for the Mares’ Hurdle and if that’s the case I would imagine Annie would go for the Champion,”
