Hello No2’s…. hehehe….. Alan Keyte is the guy that tips daily for the Western Mail newspaper. Bricoman is using his naps with the RD’s, if you wanna follow his naps you’ll find ’em in the Racing Post Online in the left hand menu under "Tipsters" and then click on the Naps Table….. now watch me make an utter dick of myself cos some smart ass is gonna tell me there’s a quicker way to access the Nap Table…… well c’mon then, I’m all ears…..

Loppy Lugs

November 22, 2003 at 09:37 #51089s/r = 2/5, Working Bank = 75 pts

November 24, 2003 at 10:39 #51091s/r = 2/7, Working Bank = 65 pts
1.50 Lud Channahrlie @ 5 pts…Won 13/8
Almost 3/1 available early doors on BF…
s/r = 3/8, Working Bank = 73.12, Levels = 98.30
(Edited by Bricoman at 2:09 pm on Nov. 24, 2003)
November 25, 2003 at 07:02 #51092We have 13.13 pts carried and 5 pts on the next RD.
2.50 Warwick Look Collonges @ 18.13 pts…Lost
s/r = 3/9, Working Bank = 54.99, Levels = 93.30
That’s 3 losing RD’s in 9 bets MrE…the working bank has dropped to almost half…apart from dropping the whole idea should I transfer 25% of my reserve bank over and carry on with smaller stakes? Similar to what would happen if your bank had increased by 50% only in reverse as a form of protection. Or do you carry on regardless @ 5 pts a bet…

November 25, 2003 at 20:45 #51093You gotta keep going Brico, the fault aint the staking, its the selection method. You HAVE to get consecutive winners and if Keyte cant do that, find someone or something that can……. if your betting them yourself, stop betting and paper trade until you see them actually pull back into the black….. you might miss winners, but its better than risking blowing your bank altogether….. it will be a challenge to see the RD’s pull back from this deficit, it’ll boost your confidence if it does, if it doesn’t, you will have at least saved the majority of your bank….. paper trade only Brico, until your happy about it……

MrE
November 26, 2003 at 10:16 #51094Got back from n/shift and guess what… server down! Who else thinks NTL sucks? Probably start a new thread on their quality of service!
Right MrE, I see where you are coming from, it’s just that I thought if you are prepared to ratchet your stakes UP on attaining 50% bank growth then ratcheting down after a 50% decrease wouldn’t do too much harm (ie: 5 pts to 4 pts)…but your the gaffer.
1.35 Chep Kalca Mome @ 5 pts (crap price though!)…Lost
By the way MrE …I found another source of regular winners at crap prices and they have had a past history of 3 or 4 winners on the trot on a frequent basis.
12.55 Weth Silver Knight is their pick today.:) …Won 4/7
(Edited by Bricoman at 4:27 pm on Nov. 26, 2003)
November 26, 2003 at 16:42 #51095I know its hard Brico, but whatever staking method you use, its no good without decent selections. I think Padman is doing OK, that shows you that it works just fine….. if your in any doubt whatsoever, stop betting for a few days until you feel you’ve turned the corner, it’s a waste of time lowering your stakes cos it’ll take you twice as long to get back on an even keel. I’m trying to be tactful here…. hehehe…. but if losing is hurting you, don’t bet, because its probably money that you can ill afford. If it is affordable, then look upon it as the price of your entertainment and be prepared to lose it if it comes to that…. It cost me £170 to take the missus for a meal and a West End Show, I had nothing in return and the entertainment lasted hours instead of weeks. You just need to relax and let it flow over you, two winners at 2/1 would bring you 45pts back and the pain disappears…… leave it alone for a while and just watch……. its still enjoyable….

MrE
November 27, 2003 at 08:26 #51096No sweat, MrE…I didn’t know I was giving the impression that I was stressed out. I’m actually betting with pocket change but it still dosn’t stop me feeling slightly disappointed when another loser comes in. Normally I would expect at least 1 RD in ten bets from MR AK…so I can see things improving. By the way, I’m only using the bank to add a touch of realism.
s/r = 3/10, Working Bank = 49.99 pts, levels = 88.30 pts
12.15 Carlisle Overstrand @ 5 pts…Won 1/2
s/r = 4/11, Working Bank = 52.49, Levels = 90.80
November 27, 2003 at 13:00 #51097HI BRICOMAN
I ALSO HAD THE SAME IDEA AS YOURSELF USING RD’S ON AK’S SELECTIONS, I HAVE BEEN PAPER TRADING THEM SINCE 01/11/03 USING RD’S + VARIOUS OTHER SYSTEMS. TO DATE RD’S HAVE A -£12.86 LOSS STARTING WITH A £1 STAKE, ALTHOUGH IT HAS BEEN IN PROFIT TWICE OVER THE MONTH AFTER A 2 AND 3 WINNER SEQUENCE. A NICE WINNING RUN TO THE END OF THE MONTH WOULD BRING IT BACK IN PROFIT.
THE LONGEST LOSING RUN FOR AK LAST SEASON WAS ONLY 4, WHICH IS NOT BAD, HIS LONGEST WINNING RUN WAS 6 , BUT HIS SELECTIONS ARE ABOUT 50/50 ODDS ON/ODDS AGAINST FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN. HE HAS ALREADY HAD A LOSING RUN OF 4 AND OF 3 THIS MONTH, SO MAYBE SOME KIND OF "RATCHET" COULD BE APPLIED AFTER HIS 3rd/4th LOSING SELECTION!
KEEP AT IT THOUGH FOR A BIT LONGER AS THIS MAY BE A BAD MONTH TO START WITH, BECAUSE OF THE GROUND AND THE CHANGE FROM FLAT TO JUMPS SEASON HALFWAY THROUGH. THE WINNERS ARE THERE BUT NOT IN THE RIGHT SEQUENCE AT THE MOMENT
GOOD LUCK:cool:
November 28, 2003 at 07:31 #51098Hi Ramenmole,
The attraction for me was his high strike rate (72% over hurdles last year)…still remains to be seen whether he can string a sequence of winners together. I guess we’ll find out soon enough. These RD’s definately EAT away at your bank when you are getting a WLWLWL sequence. I wouldn’t be in favour of ramping the stakes up after 3 or 4 losing bets just in case he has a 5th loser. Anyway, thanks for your interest and I just hope he can pull things around for this system.
7.5 pts carried plus 5 pts on next RD.
2.30 Ayr Feel the Pride (F/C 3/1) @ 12.5 pts…Won 3/1
Yippeee!!! Our 1st RD comes in after 12 bets.
s/r = 5/12, Working Bank = 89.99, Levels = 105.80
Big stake tomorrow, so could do with a winner at ALMOST any price!

December 10, 2003 at 14:23 #51101HEY BRICOMAN
I THINK YOU MUST HAVE UPSET AK WITH YOUR COMMENTS COS HES HAD 7 WINNERS ON THE BOUNCE SINCE YOU STOPPED USING HIS SELECTIONS.
THE LAW OF SOD STRIKES AGAIN!!!!!
December 10, 2003 at 16:54 #51102Hi Ramenmole.
Yeah! He’s suddenly come good and gone from 35.71% s/r to 60%.
I still monitor his selections, it’s just that I don’t bet on them unless they are the same as my own.
Even with the last 7 from 7… the Working Bank is only worth 92.18 pts, the Reseve Bank is worth 100 pts and at Levels he has 110.14 pts.
He would have to get a lot more rolling doubles at better prices for me to sit up and applaud his efforts.
