Well I don’t know about you two but I really enjoyed that … I’m up for it next weekend if you want ??
I will score joint rated at half the odds if they are the lowest scoring qualifiers.
Artemis I have taken yours with the most pts + as being the selections. You lose out on Fluff’n’Puff because it’s joint rated so I have halved the SP score. Alex I have just read yours from the top of the list.
I have scored it like thus:
Method 1
Top Rated Winners
Dave J = 0 from 4
Alex = 1 from 4 LSP +1
Artemis = 1 from 4
Alex wins that one.
Method 2
Same as champion tipster competition. Full SP awarded as points for any top 3 rated placed.
Dave J = +24
Alex = +14
Artemis = +21
So I win on that one.
Are you both happy with the scoring method and have I got it right, let me know and I will adjust as required.
Well, played and well done to Alex for getting a winner and well done to me for getting most placed points and well done to Artemis for getting the wooden spoon … just !!
:biggrin:
October 30, 2004 at 16:53 #55703Well done guys. Does this prove anything?
October 30, 2004 at 18:48 #55704
As lookingforawinner says "Well done guy does this prove anything ? "
I set out to prove the worth of biorhythms as matched against the form buff’s, Artemis & Dave.
I rest my case.
Thanks for the fun guys
Alex
October 31, 2004 at 17:09 #55705What case … you got one winner, but fared worst than both of us in general.
October 31, 2004 at 18:30 #55706I don’t think a few races, or maybe a few hundred, will be conclusive proof of anything.
I’m not sceptical of biorhythms because I believe that humans’ feelings of wellbeing generally do follow a cyclical pattern, and I see no reason to think the same might not be true for horses.
I wouldn’t mind posting again for four races next week, if you are agreeable, Alex, if only to gain a bit more insight into how your selections are arrived at.
October 31, 2004 at 19:00 #55707Hi
Firstly, Dave I don’t accept your criticism. Why because:
in the four races you selected I note you managed to group your 3 top rated thus 1.55pm 5 selected 2.30pm 4 selected 3.35pm 6 selected & 3.45pm 4 selected = 19 selections
For the same 4 races I had no joint 1sts, 2nds or 3rds therefore a straight 12 selections.
You really cannot fairly do this. Why because by the same argument I could have made all the runners in every race either first, seoncd, or third rated . This would mean a guarantee of points in every race !
Artemis, I also thought this might be good fun to continue, but it seems I have yet again managed to touch a raw nerve with your mate !
October 31, 2004 at 23:15 #55710HAHAHA……. I think Alexander the Great got you beat there Dave, you slapped leather but fell short, your big iron hadn’t even cleared the holster……. I know sod all about a horses biorythmic periods but I’m all for a bloody good fight, so go on, book me a seat for next Saturday, I wanna see the blood flow…….. give it your best guys but don’t let Matron or that big bugger of a "nurse" Urby catch you, if they do, you’ll certainly find out what they think about rhythm methods, you’ll definitely be required to rub in the ointment when they’ve finished……
:biggrin: :biggrin: :biggrin:

Not meaning to be unfair, I think I did say right through every single post, is this fair, are you happy with this?
Never mind I’ll stick the cards up again next weekend and anyone who wants to have a blast is free to do so.
BTW, Alex I haven’t benefitted at all from jointed rated horses, it was Artemis that lost out a couple of points, or am I reading different results from you lot …
MrE .. get yer specs on … !!! :biggrin:

November 6, 2004 at 03:11 #55720Hi Dave,
Only recently seen this thread (been on short hols & had enforced lay off due to comp problems – Grrr) I notice 2 posts ago you said you were posting your top rated but then you have posted 2 or even 3 selections in a race. Are these then joint top rated? If they are I take it they only carry 50% or 33.33% of a full stake each as the case may be, otherwise you’re surely getting 2 or 3 bites at the cherry?
Also whilst the contestants obviously have the right to set the rules and scoring, shouldn’t the winner of a race be more ‘valuable’ than a third place?

November 6, 2004 at 05:59 #55722Did I read the initial posts correctly – biorhythms ? For predicting horse’s performances ? The same thing Phillips used to include on their C12 mobile to tell you when you’d be happy and when you’d get some ?!
I’m open minded , but this sounds barmy ! And before you say anything Alexander , it’s not a ‘ sado ‘ opinion – it’s an opinion pure and simple.
Biorhythm’s – brings a smile every time. But , in the interest of competition :
1.20 Doncaster
Foreign Affairs
La Sylphide
1.50 Doncaster
Glen Innes
Bowstring
Imperialistic
2.20 Doncaster
Quito
Goldeva
Ruby Rocket
4.00 Doncaster
Sendintank
Master Wells
Number of selections corresponds to places paid in each race.
Biohythms – :biggrin: – there , it still works.

November 6, 2004 at 09:49 #55729Snowman … will be scoring these in the order they are written from the top down. The idea being that, because these are ratings and not tips, it is more important to be rating horses that finish in the frame than horses that just win. I reckon it’s a better guage of how the ratings are working.
It worked pretty well last week … :biggrin: .. you joining in ??
