    Cappa Bleu

Time enough yet for Cappa Bleu, maybe – I was hopeful that he may have been able to make the grade in classy staying chases last season, but in retrospect the conclusion has to be that he was found the wrong races at the wrong stage of his career.

Maybe running him in an Aintree 2m4f novice couldn’t be helped, as the fast ground hadn’t enabled him to honour more conducive commitments before his novice status ran out on October 31st. After that, though, feeling his way into better company via the Graduation Chase pattern, for which he would still have been eligible until recording one further victory, would have been less of a seismic leap than that straight into the Hennessy, which he didn’t cope with.

Hopefully a 2010-11 season spent taking in all the best hunter chases will get some more miles on the clock, and then let’s see where we are with him 12 months hence as, who knows, an aspirant for a National of some description.

Maybe didnt have the profile as a few of the horses listed in this thread, however, Ouninpohja defintely had a lot of hype regarding how good he could be, yet, never seemingly fulfilled that hype.

Could have marched all over most of what was set against him in opposition, but simply didn’t wanna half of the time. A prize pig and no mistake!
