I was gutted to read that Mossbank won’t be seen out this season.
What odds about the Irish not winning a single one of their big non-handicap non-novice chases this season?
With Paul Nicholls scooping up the prizes with Denman, Neptune Collonges, Twist Magic and co plus The Listener making regular trips across the Irish Sea, it has to be a very real possibility.
Plenty of other trainers might turn to Ireland to escape clashes with Nicholls horses too. Just a thought.

September 5, 2008 at 20:32 #179599No further detail beyond it being a setback on the RP site.
It’s very unfortunate for connections; especially after War Of Attrition’s tendon troubles.
September 5, 2008 at 20:36 #179600RP reports an undefined setback for Mossbank.
Whilst there could be a few interesting Irish novice chasers next season – especially in the staying division – some of the better second-season mob have also met with setbacks, and they might find it difficult to mount a challenge for top honours in Graded races in the coming season.
September 6, 2008 at 02:40 #179632Even the prospect of not seeing some chasers is better than the prospect of actually seeing some flat horses, eh Grassy?
September 6, 2008 at 07:39 #179638Exactly, rory.
September 12, 2008 at 23:28 #180716Chasers these days seem too have legs like glass, why is this? Are we pushing jumpers too early>? A NH breeder hates juvinile novice hurdling, i dont blame him having seen the hellish atrican rate among juvinile novice hurlders in some yards..
