No way would Big Mac have let Jamie Moore get away with that comment about "giving the horse a bit of a blow" over an inadequate trip.
Then to finish off he states brother Ryan says he has a good chance in Honk Kong on "some Chinky horse", Jimbo’s face was a picture.
December 7, 2013 at 10:14 #461091I found it very funny. You could just see Jim and Mick waiting for the camera to go off them to burst out laughing.
Someone somewhere will take offence no doubt but I just found it comical, I like Mr Moore he comes across as genuine and natural.
December 7, 2013 at 13:34 #461153He may be a good jockey but no class. What does he call you Ian when he thinks you are not tuned in?
December 7, 2013 at 17:38 #461195Moore should be OK, as I suspect very few PC people watch the Morning Line. Some years ago on Sky Sports coverage of the darts Alan Warriner defeated Singapore born Paul Lim and informed viewers live on air that he had told Mr Lim "You are the Weakest Chink, goodbye"
I expected there would be several complaints but it blew over without drawing any criticism I am aware of. It is very hard to imagine the same would have happened had it been a footballer making the same comment on a fellow player on Match Of The Day. Ironically there was far more fuss created in the press when Alex Roy accused Phil Taylor of farting his way through an entire match, giving rise to the genius headline "World Farts Champion"Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Value Is EverythingDecember 7, 2013 at 21:27 #461225Interesting no comments about JM stating a horse of theirs had been run "because there were no other races, really", and when Jimbo said he’s not a 2m horse JM stated "HE WAS OUT FOR A GOOD BLOW, YOU KNOW?".
What is going on? Mind you, the faces who said nowt today are not sexist, so its as all good on here.

Aye, that was disappointing to witness that this morning. Am also pretty sure he referred to the non-white stable lad leading back Sire De Grugy as "Kit-Kat here" when being interviewed on the walkway back to the winners enclosure, but could do with watching a replay of that to allay any lingering doubt.
Better sometimes to say nothing and be thought a buffoon than to say something and remove all doubt. Some virtue in brother Ryan’s more taciturn demeanour, all of a sudden.

I’m, not really bothered what he or anyone calls me Andy. It’s not gonna kill me.
December 7, 2013 at 23:04 #461242Being of a certain age, I’m not a fan of all this PC nonsense. In my day we called a spade a spade, quite literally. Having said that – it’s a bit foolish to be doing it on TV nowadays.
December 8, 2013 at 00:36 #461250When they came for the Chinese I was not bothered since I was not Chinese. So what are you Ian?
December 8, 2013 at 08:53 #461260He did call the stable lad KitKat but he did have a cap with the letter K on the peak so I presumed that was his nickname. Is it a racial slur I’ve previously been unaware of?
December 8, 2013 at 10:43 #461267A fuss over absolute nowt, some folk want to get a life. How many have ever been for a "chinky" meal?
December 8, 2013 at 11:22 #461275It’s common working class parlance, perfectly normal.
December 8, 2013 at 12:45 #461291Hmm. Playing devils advocate, that line of reasoning means the oft heard term "Paki Shop" for an Asian-owned retail outlet is also "perfectly normal".

So what’s the problem if that’s his nick-name?
December 8, 2013 at 17:28 #461316According to the "Team List" on the Moore’s website there is a staff member called Kirat Singh, presumably this is KitKat. TBH it was nice that the lad got a name check, often the Jockey and Trainer gobble up all the plaudits for themselves.
