    Broke down fatally in the 4.30 hurdle at Naas yesterday.
    Was a 7yr old, pulled up in only PTP start in October, first run since then yesterday. Poor boy.
    RIP Montwood.

    Is it just me or are more horses breaking down now? I know the memory can play tricks but I do not recall this happening so much when I was younger.

    Is there now a major issue in racing with too much in-breeding? Or too much breeding for speed? Are horses being asked to run too fast?
    Are they not robust enough to withstand racing?

    It does not look good for racing when so many horses are just breaking down on the flat. Plenty of horses on this list have suffered that fate.
