    4 year old grey gelding, fell badly at 2nd today in the Juvenile Hurdle at Kempton (12.30).
    Condolences to all connections. RIP :cry:

    Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...

    He was pulling and very enthusiastic and seemed to me to overjump and not get the landing gear down in time – he slithered some distance on his nose … not sure what his injuries were. Commentator Mike Cattermole said something like horse and rider seem to be up OK – but the screens were so obviously up on next circuit and on the replay his sad loss wasn’t even mentioned – bad form Racing UK!! RIP lovely young grey man.

    He said horse was up okay… then second round they even passed that fence!! Ridiculous :shock:

    I can’t understand Mike C saying what he did as apparantly the poor horse broke a shoulder, struggled and couldn’t get up …

    That’s a terribly sad article :cry: I hope there is not a jinx on horses that are highlighted as young talent – ie Hidden Keel.

    The comments section notes that Saddlers Risk also died but there was no mention. Nothing on here either. What happened?

    I think the comment is just badly worded, i.e. the user wanted to put a comment about the demise of Monty on the RP article about Sadler’s Risk winning

    ‘I wanted to leave a post on the article about Saddlers Risk why no mention of this horse’s demise was made? All equine deaths should be acknoweldged not just the top horse’

    yes saddler’s risk is alright (thank god) and a great horse
