What a smashing little horse Awzaan is, small being the operative word..he looked miniscule compared to the others. I’ve started to realise this year what a good judge of a horse Sheikh Hamdan is.
October 2, 2009 at 18:35 #251295Loyal to his trainers, as well. (Though I’m sure there’s been rare occasions when he’s moved one, or let Godolphin take it over.)
October 2, 2009 at 19:06 #251297Artic was desperate there…..looks a horse that wont go on fast condition’s. The Winner looks very good and i forget about the rest for the classic’s.

I wasn’t overly impressed with Martin Dwyer’s effort aboard Radiohead – five runner fields aren’t known for providing cover, so having gone to the front (almost every winner over the last two days has been right on the pace) it didn’t seem to make sense to rein him in, let him fight for his head and sit last – but all credit to the winner. I don’t know how well he’ll train on given his (lack of) size, or if he’ll get a mile given the mixture of speed and stamina in his pedigree, but he’s a potentially exciting prospect for next year.
October 2, 2009 at 22:23 #251322The winner was the most straightforward in the race and that is probably what swayed things in his favour. I wasn’t as convinced as others that this was such a good renewal and it seems unlikely there were any classic winners on view.

I’ve never considered the Middle Park as a pointer to the following years Classics.
I still think this was a nice bunch of 2YO colts and they should collect some nice prizes between six furlongs and a mile next season.
