Good luck with your Chantilly bets Jac, the Prix du Jockey Club looks a fabulous race.
St Marks Basilica is definitely the one to beat but I’m going for one that’s done
    nothing wrong yet.

3.00 Chantilly – Cheshire Academy 13/1 (boosted) Paddy Power

He’s going to have to overcome a stall that’s just about out in the carpark (19)
but he can come from off the pace so he can slot in behind and hope he can work
his way through the pack. The one thing that worries me is that I put the bet on
last night but I see this morning that Pricewise has tipped him. Normally that’s
the death knell for me as I can never seem to catch Segal right. Hopefully today
    is the day :good:

Well done Graham – Essential Quality was a good bet in the Belmont and he was a winner for my Godolphin stable too!

Good Luck with all your bets at Chantilly today Jac & Graham! The Prix du Jockey Club looks pretty open – I do like St Marks Basilica, but there are plenty in with a chance. A little E/Way on Saiydabad @ 22/1, unbeaten in three starts might be worth a chance.

I’ll be keeping an eye on Air De Valse Jac – she’s going to win a good race at a good price. Lady in France might be worth a look after a good run in the Temple stakes

How long has the Prix du Jockey Club been run at Chantilly? – I thought it was always run at Longchamp.

I think it’s been at Chantilly for quite some time Andre, I think it was run at Longchamp
for a few years after the war, but to my knowledge it’s been at Chantilly ever since .

Good luck with Saiydabad, he’s also trained by Rouget as is my choice Cheshire Academy.
He has a good record with his horses in this. Best of luck :good:

Can’t wait for this race and best of luck with your bet Graham, don’t worry about Tom Segal I reckon he followed you in. ;-)

Well done with Essential Quality winning The Belmont Andre and Graham.
I was considering swapping my stable before the Derby meeting as I really liked Athiqa and of course she won.
Difficult now to know who to swap out as I have missed out a few really good chances. Thank goodness for the Bonus points.

I have had a small EW saver on El Drama 12/1 for the Prix du Jockey as I liked the way he was progressing to win the Dee Stakes at Chester in soft going.
Good luck with Salydabad Andre 22/1 is a decent EW price.

Air De Valse deserves a nice win in the 4.50 Chantilly Andre and will keep an eye on Lady In France too after her 3rd in the Temple Stakes to Liberty Beach. Jac

Never a doubt, a nice win for St Marks Basilica – well done Jac! and AOB’s first Prix du Jockey Club.

I’m not sure what to do with my swaps in the Godolphin comp. – taking a “wait and see” approach for now.

:yahoo: Thanks Andre that was so easy and to think some top pundits doubted he would step up in distance. Had the advantage of a good draw and an experienced French jockey.

AOB soon getting over losing our Derby and SMB a Siyouni bred colt, the new sires are stepping up.

Nice one Jac, he looked a notch above the rest :good:

Cheshire Academy had it all to do from that position but made up
lots of ground once in the straight coming from last to 5th. He’d
have been closer with a better draw, but SMB looked an easy winner.

So happy the way St. Mark’s Basilica won he’s improving with each run…and yes Cheshire Academy certainly caught the eye finishing like that Graham shame he just missed the extra place that PP was paying out.

No luck for Air de Valse in the sprint or the Godolphin filly Ideal Beauty who never got into the race but I will carry on following ADV until she wins.

Had pretty good week so have a little put away for a good bash at Royal Ascot and back to Newmarket on Saturday 19th June which is the last day of the Royal Ascot meeting. Good luck this week all. :bye: Jac

I didn’t get to see the race Jac, but I saw that ADV finished fourth, which is a good run for her as she beat some well fancied horses. SMB is a nice progressive horse.

Cheshire Academy is one for the notebeook Graham, he ran a cracking race from a very bad draw.

Good Luck with your bets today everyone

Definitely one to watch Andre, he’s 25/1 for the Arc, and I’m having some of that :good:

I put up a post in the Horse Racing forum entitled Mug’s Double Anyone?
    I’ll post it here too……

I see that Mick Easterby and his son have today become a joint
training partnership. They only have 2 horses running, Calcutta Dream,
16/1 with Bet365 running in the 6.00 Wetherby and 14/1 with Paddy
Power but with 4 places. Their other runner is Gulf Of Poets, generally
4/1 in the 6.30 Weatherby. It won at Hamilton 5 days ago and of the
2 it looks the better shout. As it’s their 1st 2 runners together I’m
sure they would like to start off with a winner or 2. I’ve chanced
the E/W double taking the 14s and 4 places on Calcutta Dream. Is it
    worth a pop

It’s a bit of a wing and a prayer shot, but a few quid without going
mad is a bit of fun :good:

How folks tonight any views on reserve at Cork on Wednesday

    FRENCH FUISION 14/1
    FRENETIC 5/1
    SWIFT VERDICT 11/1

I would be inclined to take a very good look at Logo Hunter today at cork.
A bargain buy for 5000 gns at tattersalls.
He hacked up in the Sole power on unsuitable soft ground. Horses well behind him were one and two subsequently in a group race. If he does go in on this better ground, then the following sprint will have some collaborative form giving further pointers to that race’s outcome…

Given that Frenetic had Mother Earth, Snowfall and a few other notable scalps in tow on debut last year over five furlongs, her current mark of 103 looks a bit low. And along with Logo Hunter should go very well in the 220 at cork

I thought I’d mention one now that I’m very keen on…..

    2.50 Sandown Saturday – Latest Generation 7/1 Bet365

I should have put him up when he was 8/1 with William Hill but that’s
gone. I’ve had a good touch on him as I believe he’s better than handicap
company that he’s running in here. I was taken by him in his 1st run last
year when he was a solid running on 3rd behind 2 experienced hot pots of
Appleby and Stoute. He won impressively next time out at Doncaster. At that
point I was thinking 2000 Guineas and perhaps Derby. His final run last
year was in a hot Group 3 race where he led until tiring on the soft ground
    in the final furlong.

In his comeback race this year, won by Hurricane Lane, he looked to me that
he could have done with being on the slimfast diet and tired into 6th late
on. He’s bound to be fitter for this and although he’s running against more
experienced sorts, the favourite Monthar was a long odds on easy winner at
Thirsk last time, I think he’s better than the class he’s running in here.
If I sound like I’m going over the top, he was my horse to watch out for
last year. I’m disappointed it hasn’t gone the way I expected for him, but
I reckon he’ll start to put things right on Saturday :good:

Hope you’re right Graham..he seems ready to run a big race for you. Best of luck it’s so nice when one you have been watching closely comes good. Hope it’s tomorrow.

    Back with some Saturday thoughts

Yes BigG I like Latest Generation too, well done for getting such a price! I wouldn’t be too worried that you didn’t get the 8/1 lol!

My horse of the year was Blue Cup so if yours is as effective then we’ll be laughing all the way to the bank!!

    Come on the BigG!!!!!!!!!!!!!
