    Hello Everyone

Just a very small E/Way fancy for Emaraaty Ana in 2:40 @ York. Ran a cracking race in the Palace House a couple of weeks back, and with the going on the soft side the top horses in the betting may not be quite at their best.

Good Luck with your bets today!

    1,811 quid for a fiver?……that’ll do :good:

Hang on to your hats for this one. I’d made a pigs ear of my golf bets, and
although I got my 4 bets on outright, I’d missed the deadline for the 1st round
betting. Needless to say I had 2 guys placed runners up at 45/1 and 80/1. It could
have been worse as the 80/1 was joint leader with 2 to go before dropping shots.
I was really scunnered, it felt like 300 quid down the drain

I’d got a free £5 bet from Skybet and stuck on a crazy accum that would have returned
£2378. All tennis bets. I wasn’t even following them, but when I remembered and looked
back in, 2 results were up. One of the others was 1 set all and 5 games all and the
last was the Kelber V Hapep Rome final. I had stuck Kerber on at 10/1 when she was a set
down and 3-2 down. She then won her own serve to make it 3-3. There was a long delay,
still at 3-3, I had no idea what was happening, and the next thing was the cash out
appeared at £1,811. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I looked at the only remaining match
and my guy had just broken serve and was about to serve for the match. I didn’t give
a hoot, there was no way I was chancing he would hold his nerve and turn down 1,811
quid for a fiver, which was a freeby. As it happened he did hold on but I couldn’t
    give a fig.

I know this is a bit off course for our racing thread, but I couldn’t not tell it to
the gang. I went from being competely pissed off one minute to becoming like a dog with
any number of tails half an hour later :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

PS I posted the bet return from SKybet on Darrens Sports bets thread should anyone
want to check it out, it is hard to believe

:yahoo: Wow Graham :yahoo: I love stories like that .. it’s money for nothing from the bookies and you bet without any inhibitions as you don’t really expect the bet to come in..but in your case..you turned in 🔔🔔🔔🔔 so pleased for you and of course no need to see your bet Graham .. have you stopped smiling yet..what a way to come out of lockdown. B-)

I was round my daughter’s today and we switched on the racing and I picked out Mr Lupton 14/1 but didn’t have a penny on him  I was waiting for The Musidora to back Noon Star but when the time came I felt she was much too short a price so popped a fiver EW for both of us on Snowfall hoping for a place but she romped home at 14/1..she gave us back £97.40 and baby Oscar got his first initiation into seeing his mum and nan leaping up and down like crazy people .. it felt great to have a great big hug with my daughter and baby grandson afterwards.

Bet you and Mrs G did a Highland Reel round the Lounge when you told her your good news Graham ;-) Jac

    Lovely jubbly, BigG..
You deserved that big win after a rough week of it.. :yahoo:
Jac, wasn’t Snowfall great, I backed her every race last year but didn’t think she’d do it today despite saying she’d be better at 3 y/o and up in distance. I have a few quid on her at 50’s for the Oaks and same price in the Ante Post Comp. I’m not overly optimistic but nice to have a ticket.

Great ticket to have Nathan and 50/ 1.. let it Snow. :yahoo: I thought she did that very impressively and Ryan Moore rode the perfect race. :good:

Disappointed my Alenquer doesn’t run in the Dante I was really looking forward to seeing him again.

I’m going with Anghaam 11/2 in the 8.20 Newmarket. By Frankel out of my old favoutite grey mare Natagora winner of the 1000 Guineas. I was kicking myself for missing her all the way win last time so getting on early tonight. :good:

Love hearing these winning stories guys and girls – great news. Keep it up. Im on Palace Pier at 9/4 for the Lockinge but based on my betting luck over the last 18 months he’ll either be pulled tomorrow, run a stinker but hopefully just steam home. The main thing is we’ve got the price (again!) so lets see how it all pans out!!!

Thanks guys, and well done with your Snowfell bet Jac, that was a welcome one when you’re
counting on a place and it turns out a win. It was a very tidy win too and the further she
went the better she looked. She’s surely a contender for the Oaks Nathan, she’s best
priced 6/1 now. I reckon that’s a tidy bet at 50/1 that you’re holding onto :good:

Wow Graham! :yahoo: That’s an amazing return for a free fiver! Well done mate. That should pay for your new laptop and a lot more. Best return for £5 I’ve seen. and Jac – that’s great too – Snowfall won with plenty in hand. Snowfall, Snow Lantern….. lots of snow!! I bet your grandson will soon be a big racing fan too! Love all the bookie bashing.

That ticket is a good one to hang onto Nathan!

I see Hollie Doyle has her first ride for Vincent O’Brien tomorrow…. wouldn’t that be something if she got a win for him!

Cheers Andre, I can still hardly believe it. I found out later that Halep had
to retire with a calf muscle injury when she had won the 1st set 6-1 and was
3-3 in the 2nd. I wouldn’t wish any harm on the girl, but it was probably the
only way that Kerber was going to win. Sometimes you just get a break and like
Nathan said it’s not been the best of weeks for me. It was an outrageous bet
with a free fiver, I think I’ll copy the bet, mount it in a frame and stick it
up somewhere so I can get a smile every time I go past it :good:

Yes Graham definitely one to pin up on the wall. :good: It could be a long time until another windfall comes along like that. What a great name for any progeny of Snowfall…Windfall ;-)

Will be looking out for Hollie on AOB’s horse Roman Empire 33/1 in the Dante today Andre. Must be worth a small EW as she is such an incredible rider horses seem to improve no end when she is on board. Think Aiden is getting in before Godolphin decide to take her on as she rode a stormer for them on Highland Avenue at Kempton AW.

Best of luck with Palace Pier Clints, you’ve got a great price for him fingers all crossed he runs on Saturday.
Looking forward to seeing Snow Lantern run tomorrow, little worried about the improving Kingman filly Love Is You and think Hannon missed a trick withdrawing her from the 1000 Guineas, a one off chance and he withdrew her.

Good luck with any bets today I think High Definition is going to be hard to beat but Hollie could sneak in there with Roman Empire 33/1 EW so off to take a little of that, thanks Andre for the heads up.

Sorry to hear about your rough week Graham – hope everything is okay. Yep, you should definitely frame your winning ticket and smile each time you see it. Sometimes it does take a little luck to pull off a mammoth winning bet like this – you got a helping hand for sure when Halep pulled out of her match.

Jac – That is a good name for an offspring of Snowfall – Windfall! I’m sure a number of top stables are keeping and eye on Hollie – she does have a magic touch with horses. The Dante looks like a cracking race, with several in with a chance. I took 10s for High Definition in the AP contest, so I’ll stick with him, but I will be cheering home Hollie if she has a chance. I’m also looking forward to seeing Snow Lantern tomorrow – I still don’t know why Hannon pulled her out of the 1000 Guineas – as you said, it’s a once in a horses lifetime opportunity to run in a classic like that. I have faith in her to get the job done.

Starman was a nice winner at a good price Darren. I think Jac posted Anghaam in the 8:20 @ Newmarket in an earlier post.

Good Luck with all your bets today.

I’ve got the 1st 2 up in my ITV 7, along with 50,000 others no doubt. I didn’t back
Queen Power but had a few quid on Lord Protector at 100/30 ( sorry bout the aftertiming)
and I’m going on to Brunch in the in the 2.40 york. I’vr had a bet on him at 4/1

Hang on a min, I just realised the 3rd was a sneaky 2.30 at Perth. I had Minella Trump
who won, although I completely missed the race and had nothing on. They’re cramming
them into the itv7, hardly 5 mins between them. I’ll need to try and post my ITV 7
if Brunch comes in, or it sounds a bit iffy

Aarrgh, that was agony  I really thought Brunch was going to hold
on there but just pipped with the 2 wide of each other. Oh well, always
    tomorrow

If High Definition and Dexter Belle win I’ll be back in the doldrums (well not really).
Oh the swings and roundabouts of racing

I’ll stick a good double on them just in case :good:
