Lovely 9/1 winner Jac :yahoo: You were so unlucky that you didn’t get
the f/c too, in another foot Stanley Baldwin would have had 2nd

A good day all round and great opening to the 1st Meydan Thursdays of
    the year :good:

Thanks Graham & Nick :good: Yes what a fantastic kick off we had yesterday although
my winner came from a far chillier place than those fantastic double figure winners chosen by yourself and Nathan with the two Sheikh Hamdam horses Tamool and Eqtiraan :yahoo: but it was an exciting race nevertheless and that Tom Marquand/Haggas partnership could be a golden one this season.

Nick…Hope you are soon settled in and enjoying the beautiful countryside around you and maybe if you have time we might see you next week when I’ll put up a Fantasy League Thread in Competitions so we can enjoy Meydan even more and hopefully score lots of points for our Stables.

Also hope your daughter has not been too overworked in these continuing worrying times, my daughter in law has been called up on the vaccination front now so fingers crossed it comes to us all soon and life can return to some sort of normal.

Good luck to all having a bet today although it looks difficult with the AW taking centre stage again. :bye: Jac

Hello Everyone, Well, I guess all it took was a return to some serious flat racing for all of you to go bookie bashing! Well done all round. :yahoo: You found some lovely priced winners. :good: Now, just keep it going!

The political climate is beyond crazy here right now. Hopefully nothing worse happens over the next 10 – 12 days.

    Stay Safe Everyone!

Thanks for asking about my daughter Jac  she is fine just totally knackered.
Numbers flying up but she does say that they do seem to be handling it better this time round from knowledge from first wave.
Will look in for that comp
    Stay safe :rose:

Yes same with Helen Nick..and at least they have the proper PPE :good: what would we do without them.

See you at the Godolphin compy and Andre too.
Can hardly believe what happened on Capitol Hill the other day. Trump should have been made to clear up the mess and so sad that lives were lost..sooner he’s gone the better. rant over…

I’ll be backing the ones I’ve picked for the Pick 3 Horses Compy,
the 1st is running shortly so I though I’d stick him in here.

12.58 Wincanton Merry Milan 20/1 Paddy Power

I’ve mentioned him before after he caught my eye before his run at
Warwick in September. I had a punt and he just got caught in the run
in over 3m 2f. Ran a couple of stinkers after that (although badly
hampered in 1) and then moved to Charlie Lonsdon. Ran at Uttox
in December and the RP comments state he tired before 2 out. Maybe,
but I think he was tenderly ridden. Hopefully he is back to something
like his best, and he was dropped a further 4lbs for that race. I think
he’s well handicapped off 102 and 4 places at 20/1 seems a really good bet.

Hello Everyone, As you said Jac – a very tricky day indeed.

My first selection in the “Pick 3” contest came in third…. which I guess is better than most of my selections have been doing recently. For what it’s worth my last two are 3:45 Winc – Gardefort and 1:45 Kemp – Double Shuffle Double Shuffle hasn’t won in almost four years, but did run well last time out at Kempton. Hoping he can find some of that old sparkle and he appears well backed. Gardefort ran a good race to finish second LTO after being off the track for almost two years.

In the Welsh National I went with The Two Amigos. He was beaten 12 lengths by Secret Reprieve LTO, but I’m hoping he can turn the tables. Should be a decent E/Way bet at least.

    Good Luck All

A bit sick that Merry Milan came down just after halfway when travelling
like a dream just behind the leader. I’ve watched it a few times and can’t
quite work out what happened, if he caught his back legs or just knuckled
on landing. The main thing is I hope he’s alright.

    2.35 Wincanton – Slatehouse 6/1 Paddy Power

After a wind operation in 2019 he came out and won 3 out of 4, and was so
unlucky when falling when looking the winner in the Betvictor Gold Cup.
Last year he was so disappointing in his 3 runs, something wasn’t right.
He’s had another wind operation in November and hopefully it will have the
same desired effect. At his best, even with top weight, he would win this.

    3.10 Chepstow – Decimateur 16/1 Bet365

I backed him for the cancelled version of this at 16s with Bet365, and the
same firm still go 16s, (generally 14s and 12s and 10/1 in a place). He’s won
on his last 2 visits to Chepstow and had a nice pipe opener in November where
he was 3rd of 3 against 2 much higher rated horse (was giving 6lbs to If the
Cap Fits), so he was never going to win that one. He has a nice weight for this
and I think he’s got every chance.
