Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 1, 2021 at 18:00 #1533910Great news…
Just received notification that Newmarket will resume with Members and guests present on…Saturday May 22nd
Friday Evening June 18th
Saturday June 19thEvery Members or guest visitor has to download a free E-Ticket and complete a Covid19 Compliance Form.
I know to start with coming back to racing will not be as it used to be and I will probably use my Paddy Power App to place bets instead of going to the bookie..but just to be get back to viewing the horses in the paddock, being close enough to touch them and meeting up with old friends.

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 2, 2021 at 23:36 #1534115Another quiet week but Aintree coming up so lots more to look forward too.
Just started watching Unforgotten on ITV Hub Seasons 3 and 4 with our local girl round these parts Nicola Walker..very good..along the lines of Silent Witness but better.

Graham did you notice that Grace was being shown on TV based on Roy Grace from the Peter James books and taken from his first book Dead Simple. You can catch up with it on the ITV Hub.
Just sorting out some horses for tomorrow so back in the morning..Best of luck with all your runners, think mine will all be on the flat.

Rummy’s Handicap comp is moved this week to Easter Monday..The Irish Grand National…don’t forget to post..

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 3, 2021 at 11:52 #1534190Well spotted Jac with Grace, I’ve got it bookmarked for Mrs G

Yes it’s been a quiet week, I hadn’t even looked at them yesterday when my son
WhatsApp’d me and asked if I’d got my ITV7 on. With 10 mins to go I whizzed through
them, for all the good it did as I didn’t get through the 1st leg
Half an hour later he messaged me again saying he had a fiver on Pholas and
that it had won. I had a look and couldn’t believe this Hollie Doyle ridden
winner in the 2.35 at Lingfield had gone off the 25/1 rag. I watched it’s
previous race, and it won doing handstands
That’ll teach me for having a lazy day and not giving them a look, it was
screaming out to be bet
I’m just going with my competition horses today and looking forward to
the Irish Grand National on Monday. I’ve had a bit of a belt at Discordantly
who I clocked running on well in the Ultima Handicap Chase at the Festival.
I thought he looked the right type for this. I took the 28/1 and I’m glad
to see he stands his ground and is still decent value at 25/1.Best of luck today everyone, let’s hope it’s a good one
April 3, 2021 at 12:33 #1534206It was actually son Chris that spotted Grace first and sent me the link..
Will be intetested to hear what Mrs G thinks of it as for us the Jury’s out at the moment..but I will say no more for now.
I felt for you with Hollie winning on Pholas yesterday..if it helps I missed it too.
I’ve deserted her on Came From The Dark at Musselburgh today as he only wins at Haydock gone with Zarzyni WIN and dear old Caspian Prince EW (love him). Napped him in 3 horses in an effort to gain a few more points but my main Nap is ..
5.55 Wolverhampton
CLOSENESS 4/1 Win
Michael Bell and James Doyle team up to get the Queen’s filly home tonight after a decent 3rd last time out at Chelnsford where she was short of room for a while and seemed to dislike the kickback.
Hoping the James Doyle will race more prominently with her this evening.
Best of luck with your bets today Graham..report back immediately if you get a nice winner.
and with
Discordantly in the Irish National on Monday..
Don’t forget to put him in Neil’s Handicap which is now on Easter Monday ..

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 3, 2021 at 12:44 #1534208Here my bets for jumps today my horses on the flat be in my thread in a few mins
MIDNIGHT GINGER 6/1
RONDE DE NUIT 7/2
CALL IT MAGIC 12/1
ROGNOR LORBOCK 8/1
MAGIC TRICKS 13/2
GLENTOOL 3/1April 3, 2021 at 13:25 #1534225I’ll have to see if I can find those shows over here Jac. I’m sure they are available on one of the zillions of streaming services in the US.
A Hollie winner at 25/1

It’s been a quiet lull after Cheltenham. Aintree will be here soon then, then there’s an Irish festival at Punchestown at the end of April. Before we know it the Guineas meeting will be here and the flat season will be in full swing.
Good Luck with your bets today. I still need to post in Neils handicap comp.
April 3, 2021 at 14:08 #1534229Wow. I just fired 3 big arrows at the 3 horses comp and Eton College has just obliged at 11/1
.. Wish I’d put him in the 4PP now but very happy with that result..
Andre..Neil’s Handicap us not until Monday so lots of time although I should really put mine on as I know with the family round for a crazy Easter Egg hunt tomorrow it will slip my mind.
Hope you manage to stream Unforgotten and Grace Andre the latter is especially good.
Best of luck in the comps today Andre.
Good luck today Darren. Will keep an eye on those.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 3, 2021 at 14:22 #1534231Congrats Jac! Eton College stormed home nicely for you
Keep it going! I shot a feeble dart at that race, in one of the comps, with Muntadab and missed the target!I will do the same, as I’m sure to forget as it’s not a “normal” comp day.
Edit: First one in with my Irish National picks in the handicap contest!
April 3, 2021 at 14:40 #1534238Wow Jac what a price he was for a Mark Johnston winner, they usually know when
1 is going to pop up. Well done
April 3, 2021 at 14:41 #1534240Well done with Eton Jac,
I looked at that race but liked 5 of them so left it aloneGaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
April 3, 2021 at 16:01 #1534251Well it looked like I was going to be hung out to dry, but my
last one of my bets saved the day. Molly Carew went in at 9/1
and put me back in the black for the day, but unfortunately
it was only a reserve in both my competitions. A sort of bitter
sweet moment
April 4, 2021 at 11:55 #1534387Thanks Graham and Nathan I enjoyed that one.
Never mind reserves Graham at least the money was down…🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎
There was a young racehorse named Molly
Who one day went out for a jolly
BigG saw her name and thought “she’ll make the frame”
She did..and he made lots of lolly
🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎Well done.

April 4, 2021 at 17:26 #1534428I love the little Molly verse Jac, it gave me a good chuckle

Well done Darren Themaxwecan, that was a nice one at 8/1
April 4, 2021 at 17:46 #1534432That just came to me Graham think I must be missing Nathan’s Poem of the year contest…

Well done Darren with Themaxwecan
He’s usually one that I would follow but really fancied Hochfeld in that who came 3rd he ran well and got 3rd so happy with that. What a day for the Johnston camp.
