    From Australia, just wanting to know what the consensus is on the English/French challenge for this year’s Melbourne Cup. Horses that come to mind: Fox Hunt, Jukebox Jury, Americain (last year’s winner), Moyenne Corniche, Manighar, Dunaden, Saptapadi, Red Cadeaux, Drunken Sailor, etc. Any words of advice/theories would be appreciated.

    Wait for the draw [low to middle have an advantage, I think]. Probably know this but you can listen to it live on Radio Sport 927. I wish I didn’t know it because I end up staying up all night and I have work the next day. Pay attention to any Godolphin horses.
