April 5, 2008 at 17:20 #156220It wasn’t a fall that caused it as he unseated Tom O’Brien. Apparantly it was caused when he was running loose.
Such a shame as whenever a fatality occurs.RIP McKelvey.

Thoughts with the Bowen’s and connections.
April 5, 2008 at 17:32 #156233So sad – he looked magnificent before the race. Feel so sorry for everyone close to him who have nursed him back to health over the last year. He’s the one the viewers of "The One Show" have been following via his web-cam so hope that’s reported sympathetically next week …

April 6, 2008 at 15:20 #156456So sad that after all that had happened to him that he should meet his end this way.
April 6, 2008 at 18:19 #156501RIP, McKelvey. So brave in last years race. I wish his connections all the best.
April 8, 2008 at 23:57 #156967My attention was drawn to McKelvey when i was watching the build up to the Grand National. Clare Balding was talking to one of the presenters of "The One Show" and they were discussing McKelvey and the stable web-cam that had captured his preparations. It was so upsetting to learn that he had been fatally injured. What a lovely horse he was, it’s so sad. RIP McKelvey x
