    Could somebody take a look at the last race at Folkstone today and tell me Khazar finished behind Avant Gardiste?? I was on Khazar at 5/6 and still cant believe what I saw. Avant Garde was keen in the first time visor and I thought the bet was safe when khazar was making headway 3 out and Avant was weakening. Some might say that Khazar doesnt stay over hurdles but this is a horse who has won over 15 furlongs on the flat. The effort from the saddle after jumping the last was minimal and McCoy made no effort after jumping the last contrary to Section H18 The general requirement is that every horse must be ridden in such a way that the Rider can be seen to have made a genuine attempt to obtain from his horse timely, real and substantial efforts to achieve the best possible placing. It is not necessary to use the whip to satisfy this requirement but a Rider must give his horse at least a ‘hands and heels’ ride.
    It didnt look like the horse went wrong and I havent heard anything to suggest so but I would love to hear a second opinion.

    cheers

    Bruce Betting? Never heard of them, are they an Aussie firm?

    Guessing that was DJs attempt at humour, he doesn’t get out much…..
    They were the source of my second ever account closed letter in 2002, which I still keep in my desk for the days they wish I was still punting with them- in those days they made a rick a day, don’t know what they’re like now. it was NRNB at Cheltenham that ultimately led to my downfall…..

    improved effort from the horse today who according to report in running;
    held up, ridden, stayed on from 2 out, took 2nd flat

    a competent ride from the saddle and seemed to see the trip out well

    Having said that, seeing the irquois race today has still left me speechless!
