Hi all,
Can’t find anything on web searches newer than about 18 months. Does anyone know how the horse is ?
September 12, 2013 at 20:06 #451028The last I heard, he was recovering at a farm not far from Paul Nicholls’ yard. He has been retired and won’t be returning to racing.
I believe the injury sustained in the King George was so serious that his recovery will be a very long process. Hopefully we see him in the parade prior to the Champion Chase in 2014 though.

September 16, 2013 at 10:19 #451449I have emailed Nicholls asking for an update, will let you know if anything comes back.

Hello Nathan
Master minded is now turned out to grass enjoying his retirement. He is no longer at Manor Farm Stables, but I believe he is doing well.
Best wishes

September 18, 2013 at 05:17 #451634Thanks for that Nathan.
I wondered whether PFN would actually know MM’s whereabouts, bearing in mind his falling out with the owner.September 18, 2013 at 13:47 #451660PN’s wife was very fond of the horses [wasn’t she his work rider] so I’d be amazed if she didn’t keep up to date with his progress whatever the circumstances. I was never quite sure why he ran in that King George, though [assume it was to see if he’d get 3 miles]. Good to hear he’s doing ok though.
September 18, 2013 at 14:27 #451663I think the 3 Mile experiment was worth taking on with Master Minded, but it was just unfortunate that he struck into himself. Perhaps Daryl Jacob could have pulled the horse up sooner though.
