Benson 16/1 NRNB
Seems to be stepping up in distance for Cheltenham from the sound of it.

Hard to know which would be the easier option. A bit 50/50 if he got in the Coral Cup off his current mark so a bet to nothing anyway with NRNB.
February 1, 2021 at 22:37 #1520826He looks primed for something alright Botchy, good luck with him.
I had put a couple of quid the way of Stattler, but he’s looking above this.
Damalisque was very impressive the other day, and he’s certainly very interesting.
My main fancy is Wide Receiver. I bet him a few months back “To Win Any Race”, and he’ll do for me here. He’s got plenty of time to blow his mark for this before then, and has enough options, so him lining up here, doesn’t look a given. Not looking for anything else though at this stage.
Should he go elsewhere, I’d maybe look at the likes of….
N’Golo
Crosshill
Power of Pause
Solo
Palmers Hill….but I’ll definitely wait till the entries for a backup plan.
Wide Receiver 20’s (Any Race)
February 2, 2021 at 01:57 #1520873Gordon seems to have entered a good few of his Cheltenham handicap horses in races this weekend to see what there uk marks are
Iv already backed fantasio dalene for this but eskylane being one of them is tempting me to add another
Be interesting to see how lenient the handicapper is on him and wide receiver
February 26, 2021 at 12:12 #1525445A couple of ew NRNB’s. What a difference it makes.
Janika @ 40’s
Leoncavallo @ 25’sFebruary 26, 2021 at 14:42 #1525467I think “Eskylane” will go off shorter than 5/1.
March 8, 2021 at 08:28 #1528003just backed the shunter 11/1 nrnb with 100k to win any race this looks the easiest to me so its the one i would choose
March 11, 2021 at 20:53 #1529107Last bet on Stratum @ 33’s NRNB
Must of backed him 10 times a couple of years ago, stopped and then he won a big race at Newmarket at a stupid price. Done the same the last 18 months and and totally gave up on him after the Melbourne Cup. Last try, i hope.
March 11, 2021 at 22:03 #1529112Yeah I did that too. Bah.
Was actually thinking of Galopin des Champs for this when I saw him entered but thought I could just sit tight, then Ruby started namechecking him for it in all the previews and he halved in price. Bah, again.March 11, 2021 at 22:06 #1529113You can just see it though can’t you Grass. A bloody nightmare horse that one.
March 17, 2021 at 12:13 #1530266A real headscratcher this one.
Went with Mill Green, who ran an interesting race in this last year, and I’ve got a further shortlist of roughly 20 from the Joseph O’Brien and Elliot/Foster yards. Probably favour Frontal Assault at 20’s at this stage.
Almost certainly add another, and I’m having a good look at Fabulous Saga, who’s a mad looking price on his Albert Bartlett run. The performances of Ex Mullins horses obviously raises concern, but the reflects that.
Fabulous Saga
Frontal AssaultMill Green 28’s EW 6 Places
March 17, 2021 at 20:21 #1530476Half of these don’t get a rating on my figures, mainly because of no handicap form so this is a complete mine field for me.
Top 5 of those who gain a figure are:
Whatsupwithyou 158
Golden Taipan 157
Amour De Nuit 149
Frontal Assault 149
Mill Green 149The top rated Whatsupwithyou is lightly raced, has shown promise twice here and seems rather long at 40/1.
March 18, 2021 at 23:41 #1530902Missed the 20’s on Frontal Assault, but can really complain with 16’s, still think that’s fair.
Frontal Assault 16’s
Mill Green 28’s EW 6 PlacesMarch 19, 2021 at 00:52 #15309105lb wouldn’t have stopped Langer Dan t’other day, so he must be well in, and could hardly have won any easier. Absolutely hacked up. There will be others improving and well in also, but I’m happy enough with the 13/2 on offer. First one I really fancy all week, and first bet. In the last! My discipline is improving.
BUY THE SUN
March 19, 2021 at 02:13 #1530914There are some strong trends in this race
It’s actually been won by some of the slowest horses ever in recent years
-Horses finishing in the top 3 of a graded race last time have won 5 of the last 7 renewals
-those who prepped in a handicap 3 wins from 171 runners
-those who prepped in non handicaps 9 wins from 108 runners
-horses who prepped over shorter than 2m2f 1 win from 94So you need something that finished in the top 3 of a graded race last time over the 2m3f or further
Only one horse fits those trends and Jordan gainford has been jocked up on it and that is frontal assault
March 19, 2021 at 08:26 #1530928Langer Dan has to be backed after that last run , frontal attack e.w
March 19, 2021 at 08:31 #1530932I definitely missed the the memo on Gentleman De Mee. Looks incredibly short here.
