Just noticed that the Nicky Henderson trained joint favourite, Luccia, who romped home by 17 lengths at Sandown in a bumper last year is entered to run tomorrow (Saturday 12th) at Cheltenham in the flat race. I’m going to pop down to a shop and back her for this today (between 8/1 and 10/1, may have to take a 20 minute drive to get the 10/1) as I like her chances of winning impressively tomorrow.
Though she is currently available to back at 15/8 for tomorrows race so it could prove more profitable to back her tomorrow, hope she wins and then take whatever price is offered post-race, if she bolts up she’ll be what, between 2/1 and 5/1 you’d imagine, would have thought it’d be more like 4/1 if she wins really well as it’s only a flat race so they can hardly price her up too short before she jumps a hurdle in public.
November 11, 2022 at 12:31 #1622523Luccia 10-1
November 11, 2022 at 13:01 #1622525I backed her at 25s a couple of months ago (hills made a rick she was 12s everywhere else)
Hoping she is over her issues
Henderson really talked her up in his stable tour
November 11, 2022 at 16:27 #1622555He did indeed FF! it ended up being a 40 minutes drive to the closest shop that had 10/1 available so I bit the bullet and did the hour and a half round trip, it’s a diesel car so I feel it was worth it
Nice to know all 3 of us are on the same horse

Yes I read that so decided to pick her then over the Irish ones. Will see how she goes tomorrow.
November 11, 2022 at 22:42 #1622608Christ almighty just seen the Willie Mullins joint fav for this is running tomorrow as well in the first (11.50) at Naas in a 2m hurdle, fingers crossed she doesn’t win by too far lol.

November 12, 2022 at 15:44 #1622796FFS Luccia Non-Runner!!! Why?
November 12, 2022 at 15:51 #1622798Coz of the ground.
November 12, 2022 at 15:55 #1622801I’ve only watched a few of the races today with the sound off – what’s up with the ground? Is it more tacky than soft and thus more stamina-sapping than it normally would be after a bit of rain?
November 12, 2022 at 15:59 #1622802Weird because going by the results all the fancied horses have either won or run big races today at Cheltenham, maybe Nico got stuffed by the irish fix it job and as a result thinks the ground is worse than it is? weird.
November 12, 2022 at 16:13 #1622804If, as i expect, Henderson has pulled her out with Cheltenham in March in mind thats fine by me.
