This race doesn’t really deserve a thread. One of those races that should not exist. Best horses taken away from/to the detriment of other Cheltenham Grade 1’s; best of the rest could up the quality of handicaps, the rest shouldn’t be good enough to run at Cheltenham. If they’ve got to have the Mares Hurdle turn it in to a limited handicap. As it is…
Two horse race: Vroum Vroum Mag Vs Apples Jade.
Value Is EverythingDecember 15, 2016 at 00:09 #1277221You may well be right Ginger, although whether one or either turn up here has to be
a consideration. I’m hoping that KOTKIKOVA heads here, although she is likely to take
in the Christmas Hurdle at Leopardstown on the 28th so they could be considering the
World Hurdle route. I think there’s time enough for the WH, and this race would be in
her compass at this stage. She could be very good, and JP snapped her up. Anyway, I took
the 14s a while back so I’ll just have to sit it out and hope.December 15, 2016 at 17:56 #1277275Good luck with Kotkikova BigG. There are some mares in the field with potential to improve. It’s just that (provided Annie Power goes elsewhere) VVM and AJ set such a high standard that even if others progress – there’s less than three months to go – unlikely to improve enough to challenge.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 22, 2017 at 11:53 #1288436Last time she was best placed in a dawdle. Hopefully, we might get a better idea whether Apple’s Jade actually wants a trip or stepping her up was just an overreaction. After all the horse she has close ties with is now third favourite for the Champion.
February 22, 2017 at 14:33 #1288447Ground wasnt ideal for AJ but limini should come on a fair deal for that, cant see AJ reversing that form
VVM almost certain to be re-routed now
February 22, 2017 at 14:38 #1288448So where do we think VVM will go? Send UDS Champion Hurdle and VVM Ryanair?
February 22, 2017 at 14:42 #1288449UDS wont budge, there not going to reroute UDS if they werent willing to reroute yorkhill
VVM – stayers
February 22, 2017 at 14:44 #1288450VVM will not run over fences this season. So forget about Ryanair and gold cup for her.
February 22, 2017 at 14:47 #1288451Limini to the CH and VVM to stay in the Mares?
Who really knows, probably not even Ricci….

I should of cashed out.
February 22, 2017 at 14:55 #1288452That was impressive from Limini. Easily accounted for Apples Jade
February 22, 2017 at 14:55 #1288453Apple’s Jade – outspeeded or outstayed? Either way there is precious little evidence to suggest that she ever wanted the step up in trip.

Couldnt agree more
Limini to the CH and VVM to stay in the Mares?
Who really knows, probably not even Ricci….

Theyll either keep limini here and send vvm elsewhere or keep vvm here and send limini elsewhere
One would be fine in the CH and on would be fine in the stayers
Like you said im sure not even ricci knows

Both would beat AJ in this so i would not be surprised if they finally gave her the CH nod, although elliot will want her in the mares

I don’t think VVM will go to the CH after her struggle Doncaster 2 mile win.
If Ricci wants a CH runner then surely Limini is his best option now.
But double guessing what happens is pointless, probably won’t find out until the day haha…

I should of cashed out.
February 22, 2017 at 15:33 #1288459Limini to The Mares and Vroum Vroum to the Stayers. Think Ricci should sit The Champion Hurdle out. Has a much better chance of getting two wins with the above; Vroum vroum would have to be back to her best to compete with Unowhatimeanharry.

Agree and VVM is 7’s for the Stayers with Paddy Power.
February 23, 2017 at 02:56 #1288537As someone who backed Limini for this at tidy odds after she won the mares novice race last year, I fear she will go Champipn Hurdle now.
I wanted an encouraging comeback run today but it was perhaps too impressive in that she may go to the CH instead.
March 11, 2017 at 14:44 #1291121The current Mullins story seems to be that the two novices will go the Dawn Run, VVM to either miss the Festival or go to the Champion and Limini to run here.
Apple’s Jade does thrive on her racing and will probably improve from the prep run, but I still think Limini comes out slightly ahead. The prices seem about right. I’ve had a few quid on the jolly just for the sake of having an interest in each race. Very recreational in this case! It’s hard to be too dogmatic about the each-way angle. Jer’s Girl doesn’t seem to have trained-on while Lifeboat Mona is a little flaky and has the whiff of one of those Nicholls horses that falls out the back of the TV on the first day. Colin’s Sister is certainly going the right way but needs to find even more to make the frame.
I’ve also just had a little go at Whiteout e/w @ 25/1 NRMB. She was flattered to beat Limini last term, but always runs big figures when granted decent ground and is relatively unexposed under positive tactics in this sort of company. She has been for a walk on the machine and is possibly not going to make it, but NRMB is the safety net either way.
