The current Mullins story seems to be that the two novices will go the Dawn Run, VVM to either miss the Festival or go to the Champion and Limini to run here.
Apple’s Jade does thrive on her racing and will probably improve from the prep run, but I still think Limini comes out slightly ahead. The prices seem about right. I’ve had a few quid on the jolly just for the sake of having an interest in each race. Very recreational in this case! It’s hard to be too dogmatic about the each-way angle.
I backed Apple’s Jade earlier on in the year @ 11/4, so not on the good side of this market.
Elliot’s current form and the first time tongue tie are slight worries; but three horses are so much ahead of the rest here. Limini beat AJ last time – but as you say LS – AJ thrives on racing and went there after a longer break. Even so, L is best priced 13/8 whilst AJ 9/2 and the discarded Mullins horse VVM (who ran awful last time and got beat by AJ before that) is 5/2. Mullins no doubt wants to beat the Gigginstown mare; I think if VVM was AOK Limini would’ve gone Champion.I agree with you that Limini comes out “slightly ahead” LS; but with so much between the two now and B365 at 1/4 odds a place… AJ 9/2 looks a cracking EW bet to me.
Value Is EverythingMarch 13, 2017 at 15:53 #1291613First time tongue tie for Apples Jade?

Two aspects to this and interesting isnt it?
Its a very open champion of course and probably not great quality. Surely under normal circumstances it would have been worth a go? At a fairish price i would have backed her. Or is VVM as bad as we saw at Donny? Or is there a little bit of simply wanting to beat Gigginstown rather badly?
March 13, 2017 at 19:40 #1291672I know it is a left fielder but surely Midnight Jazz shouldn’t be 66/1 ???
Okay VVM beat it giving it five pound but that could be one slow jump or a bit of bad luck in running. I am not saying it i going to win but 66/1 looks far too big for me when Lifeboat Mona is 16/1 and only beat it three lengths.
As I say I am not saying it is going to win but the price is too big methinks.
March 13, 2017 at 19:40 #1291673Not a race to spend too much time on for me, but have went for Rock On The Moor ew at 66’s, that looks too big.
On both of the “Midnights” at silly odds Ante-Post as well.
March 13, 2017 at 19:40 #1291675By the way my main bet in this is Jer’s Girl at 12/1 MASSIVE!! LOL
March 13, 2017 at 21:20 #1291714Backed DebDebDeb EW at 80/1 without Limini and will have a small win bet on Betfair
March 13, 2017 at 21:34 #1291716Had to have a little nibble at Midnight Jazz at 150. On her form with Vroum Vroum Mag she really shouldn’t be anywhere near that price.
Near the head of the market I’ve taken Apples’s Jade.
March 14, 2017 at 09:17 #1291813I’m another for Apple’s Jade, the trainer’s comments and addition of tongue tie should mean she’s back to her best. Will try to make all and keep on, Limini may just nab her but could be on the nod and at the prices with Power’s ‘refund’ for finishing 2nd it’s a no brainer.

That’ll do nicely.
Value Is EverythingMarch 14, 2017 at 16:25 #1291954Vroum Vroum Mag
Must be one of the most overrated horses in history, entered in everything from Strictly Come Dancing to The Snooker world championships but opts for the easiest target. Lobbing along with the jockey looking between his legs today and then finds nothing.
Bridle merchant who was as low as 6/1 for the Champion Hurdle and 16/1 for the Gold Cup. Ridiculous stuff.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
March 14, 2017 at 16:26 #1291955Still not a fan of this race but that was a cracker. If Limini had jumped the last who knows but that Apples Jade is tough.
March 14, 2017 at 16:32 #1291957Certainly a spring horse, not a fan of the 3 of them atall, great spectacle though !
March 14, 2017 at 16:47 #1291961My money was on Limini and I was gutt2d she didn’t get a clean jump at the last, she seemed to have been sticking with the winner but really needed a good leap to have had a chance at catching Apples Jade, looked a tough mare.
Anybody know if Pass The Time got up ok after that fall? I was watching on itv and they didn’t seem to mention her.
March 14, 2017 at 22:40 #1292106An intriguing race with plenty of schadenfreude on show after the line.
Apple’s Jade really is an endearing mare. Of the three, she seems to be the only one with any hope of going higher. She thrives on her racing and might just be able to crank it up even further next time out. She has had a stop-start season so far but looks the ideal type to take to Aintree and Punchestown with few worries about burn-out. I wouldn’t totally write her off against the geldings.Limini didn’t seem to get home as well as the other pair, possibly paying for sitting a bit further back than ideal with the winner allowed to dictate terms. Still, she’s not a Champion Hurdle horse and isn’t even the best mare in this division, so some shrewd placement will be needed now. Vroum Vroum Mag ran really well despite abysmal vibes and rumours of burst blood vessels. After a niggly season, I’d be worried about her losing her form at Aintree/Punchestown. It’s strange that she hasn’t gone back to fences this season to broaden her options…schooling fall?
From the rest, I was delighted to see The Organist run her best race of the season. She’ll probably be packed off to the paddocks in a few months since she hasn’t taken to chasing, but she might have one last hurrah in easier company over hurdles.
