    Dreadful events in the 3.40 Southwell today.
    Kellys Eye anticipated the start and banged his head in the stalls falling to the ground, while Maakirr was coming with a strong run two out and broke down.

    Sadly both horses were put to sleep.

    Tough game sometimes.

    This was the only race I watched today as I had backed Trojan Rocket and I wish I had never seen it. Poor Kellys Eye, I knew it was bad from the start he just lay there and then Maakirr, I felt sick and so sad for both of them. At first the commentator said that Maakirr was walking back, thought he was going to be okay but worst fears confirmed now.
    RIP you two beautiful boys, you just don’t expect to this happening on the flat as often as it does. Thoughts to all connections :cry: :cry: a very sad day. :cry:

    Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...
