March 26, 2010 at 15:53 #285733Fair enough Cormack and points taken
On reflection a somewhat snide and churlish post from me
Delete it if you like
You do a good job moderating TRF pal, no question about that
Robust rough-and-tumble is good ‘n’ healthy. IMO both CR and LH can exit this thread with heads held high and reputations enhanced

March 26, 2010 at 17:17 #285749If I were Lydia and Paul I would spend the rest of the day thinking of … lambs
Like the ones Binocular was supposed to be frolicking with on his spring holidays while instead he was pounding the treadmill down in Martinstown Stud!

No David the ones that pull their wool over the publics eyes and not even a pair of Binoculars will spot them!
March 26, 2010 at 18:38 #285770Ken – I did hope to put the thread to bed but can’t be on here all the time to moderate posts and once they’ve been on for a period there’s no point removing them. Aplogies to you and Ginegertipster whose posts I removed after they’d crossed in cyberspace with the one I made last night.
As I said last night, I think the thread has run it’s course, both the leading players have made their points, neither looks like budging. I think it’s a case of who is happy to let the other have the last word. I know from personal experience that is difficult to do, we all like the last word I expect!
If you had no intension of locking the thread, then why was my post deleted!
Value Is EverythingMarch 26, 2010 at 19:19 #285779Jeez GT – I explained last night to you via PM and have apologised earlier on the thread (You’ve even quoted my apology here).

Thanks for the apology Corm, it’s just your reason did not make sense to an idiot like me. I thought once a thread was locked (as both myself and Ken thought from your pm was going to happen); there’d be no further "posts" for you to moderate.
Value Is EverythingMarch 26, 2010 at 21:01 #285797Hopefully this is my last post on here.
It is clear Cav’s OPINION is that the Bolger and Henderson cases are almost identical.
It is clear that Lydia’s OPINION is that the FACT Binocular had no other target and a possible injury made a significant difference.
Whether Cav believes these differences are INSIGNIFICANT does NOT MATTER.
The FACT they are there and can POSSIBLY be seen as SIGNIFICANT; means this is all about two people’s OPINIONS and NOT an INTEGRITY ISSUE.
Had Cav only asked whether Lydia should’ve treated them the same; there’d be NO problem. I would not agree with it, but understand his rite to say so.
Instead, (as I understand it) he deliberately accuses Lydia of DOUBLE STANDARDS, implying she knew the two were the same, but did not act on it for her own (supposedly) selfish reasons.
Once Lydia showed there WERE POSSIBLE differences in the detail, in my OPINION he should apologise and leave it at that. Instead he goes over, and over it again.

No, don’t answer that TAPK.
Fair enough.

Peace at last, unless you know different.

Diificult to argue with your basic sentiments regarding robust debate
reet hard
. However when you dismiss half of the contributions (presumably the half that you do not agree with) as "
the sycophantic utterings of the ‘name’ worshippers
", it does rather lead one to think "why bother?".
Not ‘half’ DPRP; just the forelock tuggers.
Lydia has an opinion, and has greater opportunity than most to broadcast it. Whether that opinion is any more valid or informed than many others on here is open to debate.
She’s a journo, not the second coming, and should be no less open to questioning than any other of the worthies that drink from this pool.
It will be a cold day for this forum, should it ever be any different.March 27, 2010 at 03:40 #285844March 27, 2010 at 07:30 #285850Sycophantic as this might seem, I believe in giving credit where credit is due. For someone to drag themselves away from their kitchen sink and cooking, deny themselves good knitting opportunities and be denied time for applying their mascara and lipstick, as well as competing on this Forum with a member of the opposite and stronger sex, surely they deserve heaps of praise? So, well done Cav.
