Is it just me or does anyone else seem to think that ATR French Racing Expert Liz Price always tips the favourite in the big French races?
A few weeks back she opined that Treve might win and Cirrus Des Aigles was given as the danger. Considering the odds of everything bar those two, it was hardly informative, and on that occasion it was incorrect as well.
Favourite Karakontie was put forward for the French 2000G and For the French Derby Prince Gibraltar was another shortish fav tipped up.
For Sunday we can read that she fancies Shamkala, the general 6/4 fav (with 5/1 the next best).
What is in Liz’s background that makes her the chosen one for Frenchie racing tips?
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

June 13, 2014 at 13:00 #482199I doubt that she would call herself an expert.
Knowledge of languages rather than betting probably gets her the gig. Plus a lack of competition in ‘foreign experts’ and women on the box helps as well.

I backed Shamkala at 5’s but the 13/8 now is not that appealing with Miss France and Avenir Certain in the mix, that said she could be special like Beauty Parlour…..

June 28, 2014 at 19:29 #484234Another big French Sunday and Liz has spoken regarding two races.
In the first race previewed the favourite Flintshire is tipped. In the other race we are told there is no tip, as it’s a bit tricky to call.
Superb stuff.

Thanks for the heads up Steve.
With this information there is only one thing to do?
All in on Noble Mission……

I’m surprised that she didn’t suggest coupling them on the PMU.

June 29, 2014 at 14:03 #484329Good old Liz does it again. Sadly Noble Mission wasn’t the one to cash in but Flintshire was very poor and looks well overrated to me. Cirrus Des Aigles beat him on three legs in the Coronation Cup.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
July 13, 2014 at 14:36 #26434The big race in France today is the Grand Prix De Paris and The Grey Gatsby represents Kevin Ryan in this one.
ATR French racing expert Liz Price is on the case again, and after much deliberating, cogitating and digesting, she has selected………..drum roll………The Favourite!
Prince Gibraltar fans must be holding their breath and praying to whatever God does the trick for them.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
July 13, 2014 at 15:09 #485483I think Prince Gibraltar is too short at 7/4. Considering they’re getting their toe in I think Mazocco is worth an each-way shout at 25/1. He stays well and the Ascot form has been well boosted courtesy of Hartnell. My other bet shall be Golden Guepard given his likeable win last time out and fondness for soft ground. Also 10/1 seems value, although I may have missed that…
July 13, 2014 at 16:46 #485486Liz reckons Marzocco lacks the pace, which I would have thought unlikely given the very soft ground. He may not be classy enough but surely it will be enough of a stamina test.
Once again, Liz has copped out with the second race she has previewed by making no selection for the race. I wish I could get a job as an "expert" where I could write a guide to the race and then not pick a likely winner.
I fancied Prince Of Gibraltar for the French Derby and thought a mile and a half would suit him but combined to the really soft going it might be a case of stretching the stamina too far to warrant the short odds. Surely he’ll get a better ride this time though, the jockey left him an awful lot to do last time.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
July 13, 2014 at 18:42 #485495She’s getting a few bob to have an opinion. Nothing wrong with that, regardless of whether she picks winners or not. Plus there’s very little information to go on french racing.
July 13, 2014 at 19:55 #485500Can’t blame her if ATR are going to pay her. Winner looked to thrive on the ground, if turns up a bog then would be a poke for the Arc; 25/1 first show with us.
