Unless my calculations are totally off, isn’t this season the year we should expect to see the first crops by Falbrav and Dalakhani?
(and High Chaparral & Hawk Wing if you’re into that kind of thing)
If so, how do I find out who’s training them and when and where they’re running?

July 9, 2007 at 22:55 #106990steve – you can use the Bloodstock section of the RP to search for entries etc
Heres a link to the page you need – just type in the stallion’s name
July 9, 2007 at 23:08 #106992Falbrav spent his first season at stud in Japan so we probably won’t see too many over here. He was at Cheveley Park in 2005, though, so perhaps next season.
July 10, 2007 at 08:33 #107016There’s only one Falbrav 2YO in Europe…Falcativ, who is owned by Falbrav’s owners and in training with Luca Cumani. The owner sent the mare to Japan to be covered by Falbrav when he was over there (so says Steve Taplin’s "Two Year Olds of 2007").

Thanks for that.
Dalakhani has had 2 runners.
One for Dermot Weld & one for Mark Prescott.
Prescott’s has been outpaced over 6f in both runs so far.
I guess we can expect him to get another run over a short distance before being stepped up to 10f+ next year and winning 4-6 low grade handicaps on the bounce.

LOL
July 10, 2007 at 09:07 #107020The Prescott juvenile is beautifully bred, out of Last Second and closely related to a couple of 100+ performers and the French Guineas winner Aussie Rules. She actually holds an entry at Salisbury over 7f on Saturday.
July 10, 2007 at 09:33 #107022Falcativ is being done by Keith Leddington who looked after Falbrav during his time at Cumanis – a nice touch.
July 10, 2007 at 09:37 #107023Falbrav’s first starter Beach Idle (x Beach Flag) won by 3 ½-lengths in a newcomers race over 1200m (Turf) at Hanshin a couple of weeks ago.

Top price of A$550,000 paid by Woodlands Stud NSW at the Easter Sales for a colt ( called Fravashi) out of Angelic Smile.
July 10, 2007 at 12:15 #107071Talking about first season sires, Choisir has a couple of his kids running the maiden at Wolves tonight.
I’d be guessing those aren’t the best of his crop.
And, on Friday, the current entries for the 2.25 at Ascot contains some Choisirs, a couple of Hawk Wings and a Dalakhani.
I doubt the Dalakhanis will do much until the tail end of the season, but it would be nice to see some around the RP Trophy and the various "criteriums".

July 10, 2007 at 15:35 #107123I’ve seen loads of Choisir’s this season, they have looked mostly like typical sprinters with arses like washerwomen.
The Hawk Wing’s that I’ve seen so far have looked magnificent, easily the pick every time, the best looking being Howard Johnson’s Montaquila, a winner on soft going at Newcastle.July 14, 2007 at 10:08 #107828Yahrab in the 2.15 at ascot is one of your little dalakhanis
