I like a couple of the Fahey runners here.
Dolphin Vista did me a turn at Beverley last year, and I’m happy to be with him again. I don’t necessarily think he’s that ground dependent, but he seems to be viewed as a soft ground performer, and as this seems to be the opinion of the trainer as well, then he is a bit risky, even at this late stage. I thought he was worth the risk Ante-Post in The Cambridgeshire, only to see him declared a Non Runner on the morning of the race. Weather forecasts are mixed for the week ahead, but I’ll take a chance at 33’s, and I’ll top up should he be declared. Trip shouldn’t be a problem at all, having won over it 3 times.
His stablemate Withernsea, has decent course form, and although he rarely tackles this kind of trip, I like him a lot, and he’s been on my radar, since getting touched off at Leapordstown last year, when the winner benefitted from a very shrewd ride. He’s available at 33’s as well, but I’ve taken a chance 50’s to 55’s.
March 28, 2017 at 14:49 #1294406Going to have to get my bets on early as I’ll be on holiday on Copenhagen this weekend, unless the Danish like their betting shops I wonder?
There’s a couple that I’m drawn to after some investigation. The first is You’re Fired and the reasons could be rubbish as most of mine are. On his seasonal debut the past 2 years he’s been fancied but disappointed and then after having that race under his belt he’s preformed very well in his next couple of runs. In 2015 he was a well beaten 8/1 co-2nd-fav in the Irish Lincoln but then bolted up off a mark of 87 before being beaten a neck off 94 in a big handicap at York. Last year he was 10th in the Lincoln but then went on to win a 15-runner handicap round Haydock off 102 before running 2nd in a Listed race. So maybe connections have realised that their horse is always much better after his first run from a break as they ran him in the Winter Derby 4 weeks ago. 5 pounds higher than last year alright but Clifford Lee’s claim negates that and the horse has form on soft.
The other is Donncha who shall be partnered for the first time by Jamie Spencer. 2nd in the Spring Mile on this card 12 months ago from a 3 pound lower mark. He has form on the ground/track and ran 2nd off this mark at Sandown last Autumn and 3rd at Glorious Goodwood. I think he’ll be in with a real shout and the jockey booking is a big plus in my book.
March 28, 2017 at 16:36 #1294420Good luck with those two Charles and have a nice holiday.
If you want to put up your three choices early for the Saturday 3 horses comp just put them onto the Update Thread and I will transfer them over for you..Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 28, 2017 at 17:28 #1294428I’ve just nailed my colours to Richard Fahey’s Al Shaqab colt NIMR 14/1 and hope that his improving form on the All Weather can see him through this.
Just because I always follow him my each way bet is Top Notch Tonto 25/1. If the real TNT turns up on the day he is a group horse in Handicap and could give them all a good run with his apprentice jockey taking 7lb off his back.
Good luck to all for the first big flat race of the season..

Also Burke is flying with 3 winners and a second from his last 4 runners.
I think your reasoning is very sound as to why you have backed the horse by the way. I have to say that though as i backed him for the exact same reason.
Best of luck and have a good time.
March 28, 2017 at 22:23 #1294450The first half dozen in the betting are poor value now. Morando and Yuften are pretty much unbackable at their current prices.
I get the feeling I’ll get poor draws as normal. I got away with two coffin corner draws at Meydan last week in traps 13 and 14, so maybe I’m due a change of fortune, with the irony being a good draw but then a poor run.
4/1 has to be poor value in a Lincoln.
Good luck everyone.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
March 28, 2017 at 22:52 #1294452Jac,
This race will suit Top Notch Tonto, they normally set off from the get go like Speedy Gonzales would if he had a dodgy chilli pepper and was in urgent need to find the little boys room, so if the young jockey can bide his time he could have a squeak. A bit of a heavy downpour wouldn’t go amiss for him mind.“La, la la la la la la la la, la la la la la la la la, la la la la la la

March 28, 2017 at 23:11 #1294456There’s a little rain forecast on Friday Nathan but Saturday looks set to be a sunny day.
Hope he gets a good draw at least.
All a game of chance but looking forward to seeing Top Notch Tonto in action again. Brian Ellison did say he would need that last run so hopefully he will improve for it…Have you picked a couple out yet Nathan?
Keep doing the Rain Dance
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 28, 2017 at 23:18 #1294459So I just looked back and saw botchys post saying lots of rain forecast in the area, hope he’s right and Michael Fish was doing the forecasting website where I looked

Yep, i’m on at 50’s the Dubai – Doncaster Soft Ground double AP. These crystal balls off ebay are will worth £3.99 with free P&P
March 28, 2017 at 23:39 #1294465Top Notch Tonto of course Jac……….
I’ll not be risking much but if he’s about the same price as he is now on Saturday 20’s 25’s, you can guarantee one firm or another will be going 5/6 places then I may throw a quid or two at him each way.
Oh This is Us is horse I like, he hasn’t gone on to the standards that Hannon thought he would but on his day can run a big race. Has course form winning a 17 runner handicap in November and thought good enough to take to Dubai last month. His last run over a mile was 7 starts ago in which he was 8th out of 9 so stepping back up to a mile would be a question mark.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026

Ah yes, I will. Thank you very much!
I’ve also nibbled at Top Notch Tonto. I’d be far too gutted if he won the Lincoln and I didn’t have a penny on, would probably ruin my holiday. My like for the horse goes back a fair way actually. On my one and only venture to York (long trip from Hampshire) for the 2012 Ebor meeting I put him into my notebook after a fast finishing 3rd in one of the nurseries. It was a good job I did as he won two starts later at 12/1. Although I’ve probably lost more than I won that day on backing him since!

We won’t have any problem spotting him Charles,he would be a popular winner if he does come home, I’m hoping he will.
Noticed he’s 20/1 best price with Ladbrokes this morning and with Bet Victor as low as 12/1..
Good luck and enjoy your holiday..Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 29, 2017 at 11:01 #1294484@Nathan..Thought you would have a little on Hannon and Oh This Is Us and he could spring a surprise at big odds.
I’ve done an each way trixie with Sovereign Debt in the Magnolia, Kool Kompany in the Doncaster Mile and Top Notch Tonto the Lincoln. Win only on Nimr for a quick follow up to his Lincoln Trial success.
So glad Sov.Debt didn’t run in The Lincoln as he’s another that I follow every race along with Kool Kompany (goes without saying
)…the bookies love punters like me
@botchy1..those Crystal balls have now gone viral on Ebay can’t get them for love nor money..Good luck with the double
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 30, 2017 at 11:22 #1294563Morando is out..
March 30, 2017 at 12:18 #1294566It’s a bookies benefit as Morando picks up a minor injury this morning.
Sacred Act and Chelsea Lad didn’t make the cut but at least their backers get refunded. I’ll get my money back on Sir Roderic, who just missed out rated 96, the bottom horse Withernsea is rated 97, so it’s a tough handicap to get into
On the bright side I still have Yuften and a couple of the dangers are now out.
I find it a bit disappointing that the lightly raced improvers don’t get in while out of form runners who haven’t won since Adam was a boy sit there making little appeal but will probably suddenly run their best race since Tony Blair was Prime Minister

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
March 30, 2017 at 18:23 #1294599the big prices e/w on yuften look good now, atzeni booked aswell now a bug plus
