Lovely to see the old fellow get back up to win today, I’ve been following him for years now and always hoped he had a big race in him.
What a fantastic race. I wasn’t sure who to cheer on in the run in as I am a big Lie Forrit fan but I was gutted for Sandy Thomson who trained the second in both the big races at Haydock.
On to the scottish National for Lie Forrit and I am sure the £100k veterans series final at Sandown(next January?) will be on the agenda.

I got a heads up on Lie Forrit at the start of the season at Lucinda’s Clubs Open Day in the early autumn. His trainer told me Lie Forrit was schooling well, had really got his confidence back over the bigger obstacles and would go back chasing off a low mark. Only one to beat him since has been another evergreen in Hey Big Spender.
Lie Forrit lost his way in his later days with in Willie Amos’s yard but has been revitalised since moving to Milnathort.
