Can anyone please tell me if you are able to cancel a bet if you have already placed it.I ask this question simply because i very nearly had a wager on Postmaster to lose at odds of 2/7.These were the odds before the favourite for the race Shoreacres was withdrawn.I simply wouldnt have had the bet had i known the fav was going to be withdrawn. Not only that but the bookies took a 55p in the pound dedution from punters who did back the winner.I have noticed a few races that have looked suspect recently. The Quaddick Lake race last week also saw the original fav withdrawn,Quaddick Lake then put in at 4/7,only to collapse out to 7/4 and get well and truly stuffed.Cheers in advance.

Typically you cannot cancel a bet once it has been struck.

If you have laid Postmaster prior to the withdrawl of Shoreacres what you can do is first check the odds you have laid at. They should now be shorter due to the withdrawl. (This happens on the exchanges, don’t know how 365 do it.)

Now if you back Postmaster at the same odds and stake you will be all square whether the horse wins or loses.

Back Postmaster at shorter odds and the same stake and you will be all square if it loses but lose a bit if it wins (but not as much as if you never backed it.)

Back Postmaster at longer odds and the same stake and you will be all square if it loses but show a profit if it wins.
