now call me crazy but am I the only one wondering why this horse won 5 national hunt flat races before going on to walk home in a maiden and then a group 2 race ove 12f? just all seems a bit the wrong way round to me!
July 11, 2007 at 16:10 #107379Does seem an unusual way of preparing to win a group 2 flat race. I think I’m right in saying that a horse cannot run in a bumper if the horse has previously raced on the flat so it’s not possible to do it the other way round. Excellent training performance by G.Swinbank. I wonder what the next plan for Turbo Linn is…..novice chasing perhaps
July 11, 2007 at 16:22 #107382just stick her in the arc and then the champion hurdle, she is apparently unbeatable.
that was a joke before all the "she hasnt proven anything etc etc" arguments arrive

I’ve heard that she is being aimed at the Arc – but they will see how she comes out of the Maiden Hurdle at Sedgefield 5 days before, before making a final decision on the Arc

July 11, 2007 at 16:34 #107386after backing it at 17/2 this morning I’m not complaining. couldnt believe that price….. Nannina let me down for a nice trixie though.
July 11, 2007 at 17:21 #107398Alan Swinbank, her trainer, said that she wouldn’t go into the stalls as a 3-y-o otherwise she would have ran on the flat.
She has now matured and got over the stalls problem.
Yorksire Oaks and Irish Leger are options for the future.
July 11, 2007 at 18:05 #107406Very decent trainer that Swinbank chap. If you look at trainer statistics, his name keeps cropping up as a trainer who makes a level stake profit and a one who has a high wins/runs percentage. Definitely a man to watch out for when he gets some well bred animals.

When he’s won as many races with Kirkby’s Treasure as what Alan Berry has, then I’ll start believing the talk.

Easy to say after the event, but if you back horses with stones to find at single-figure prices, then you are easily pleased.
