Another for the Irish national , for a competitive handicap the front 2 have finished 28 lengths clear of the 3rd , not often you see that in a hennessey

Nick Luck bleating on RTV about “no one apart from Venetia Williams thought this horse had a chance” and “you could not have predicted it.”

If he bothered to check RTV’s own website, one of their own pundits tipped the horse.

Well HDLG proximity to the winner he ran to 150, i wouldnt say the winner improved a whole lot today, the gap from 2nd to 3rd doesnt help add to the rating he ran like you think it would, if a horse was going to have ran to 160 today it would have been remastered and remastered only as to my eye he looked to have the race at his mercy.

So you could say 152 at best, but thatd be at best

He was 150 before the race so I’d say 152 was a bit harsh , bearing in mind the winner is only a 8 year old and he was giving him weight , as not saying the winner didn’t improve , there 28 lengths clear of the rest , Native River and Many Clouds didn’t were no where near as far clear in there hennessy,s

Yeah i get what your saying HDLG but the proximity & the weight he was giving the winner would tie in that they ran to approximately there current rating, the fact everything else was so far behind suggests nothing else ran there rating for one reason or another, ground/trip etc, it doesnt suggest those two improved atall, if remastered had stood up youd likely have seen a 160 run, but it wasnt from the eventual first or second, the handicapper can do strange things, maybe they will raise both, but he shouldnt be doing so, youll know in a few days

Ham it’s a bit hard to believe all those horses ran well below there marks , it wasn’t horrific ground so I don’t see why they should
